Sabyasachi Bride, Who Opted For A Unique White Lehenga For Her 'Sanjay Leela Bhansali' Style Wedding

There's a reason why weddings in India are called the 'big fat Indian wedding', as no other wedding culture can possibly compete with the grandeur of a traditional Indian wedding. Weddings in India are known for their apparent gusto, resplendence, and notably illustrious decor, which vary from region to region, culture to culture. And this is something that makes Indian weddings unique. Over the years, weddings in India have witnessed a significant meander from the conventional ceremonies carried out in the same way for centuries. Weddings these days are nothing but a blend of experiments, splendour, themes and a reflection of the personalities of the individuals.

Today, we're going to talk about a bride, whose wedding lehenga was as exquisitely unique, as royal and magnanimous wedding was! Sabyasachi bride, Isha from Mumbai, got hitched in a wedding that looked like the sets of one of those Sanjay Leela Bhansali's extravagant, period films. The profligate fireworks and the grand decor inspired by India's rich, royal culture were not the only things that caught our attention. It was the bride, Isha's one of a kind, Sabyasachi lehenga, which made us hooked to the wedding. Over the years, we have seen a deflection of Indian brides from the conventional bridal fashion. Brides are not hesitating to experiment with colours and patterns for their bridal lehenga, and this is one thing that makes Indian weddings unique.

Isha from Mumbai made for a beautiful Sabyasachi bride in her white lehenga, with hues of crimson at the hem and aqua at the waistline. What made her lehenga stood out from the rest was the intricate, exquisite detailing with which complex, multicoloured patterns were embroidered, which resembled the patterns of Madhubani paintings. The crimson-hued border of her lehenga had heavy mirror work which imparted a royal look.

Talking in detail about Isha's wedding ensemble, the delicate geometric patterns in shades of blue with heavy detailing in embroidery and mirror work on a white base stood out uniquely. Isha opted for a blue coloured choli with flowers embroidered over it in crimson and aqua, which was a total contrast to her beautiful lehenga. To go with her exquisite attire, Isha opted for heavy jewellery. Her Jodha Akbar style layered jadau neckpieces were the perfect accessories to her royal wedding ensemble. Isha further completed her look with matching maang teeka and a half ring nath.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywoodshaadis, the bride, Isha talked in detail about the choice of her wedding attire and what made her go for it. Speaking about what inspired her to choose her one of a kind wedding lehenga, Isha said, "I always wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride. I was sure I didn't wanna go with a traditional red and I wanted a design that looked poise and elegant." Further, throwing some light on how she decided not to choose red for her bridal attire, Isha mentioned that it was all about personal preference. In her words, "I was pretty sure always that me lehenga would be anything but a red. I wanted to stand out and make it OTT. In fact, I come from a family where wearing pastels is a thing, I was kind of raised to have a liking for pastels, beige and lighter tones. I don't wear bright colours too often as a personal preference."
