Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, called as the God of Indian cricket, is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Born in Dadar, Bombay on April 24, 1973 to Marathi novelist and poet, Ramesh Tendulkar and wife, Rajni, Sachin was born to shine. Sachin, who had begun his cricketing career at the age of 16, is the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries.
With records like, the first batsman to score a double century in an ODI and the only cricketer to complete more than 30,000 runs in international cricket, Sachin is surely the undisputed king of cricket. His consistency, discipline, and focus towards work has always been appreciated and is still considered as an inspiration to the millennials.
Just like his stupendous professional life, Sachin has an amazing personal life too. In 1995, Sachin had gotten married to his girlfriend, Anjali Mehta, a paediatrician, after dating her for five years. In 1997, Sachin and Anjali were blessed with their first child, Sara Tendulkar and their son, Arjun Tendulkar was born in 1999. Just like her mother, Sara had chosen medicine as her profession and Arjun had followed the footsteps of his father and had made his T-20 Mumbai league debut in 2019.
Sachin had retired from international cricket and is spending quality time with his family. Let’s take a look at Sachin Tendulkar's business, growing net worth and luxurious life.
From a small room in Sahitya Sahawas Cooperative Housing Society to building an empire of his own, Sachin Tendulkar is the perfect example of rags to riches. It is his sheer hard work, dedication and extraordinary skills that made him the most sought-after celebrity today.
While many cricketers have turned into IPL coaches and cricket commentators after their retirement, Sachin had refrained from all that and is enjoying his post-retirement life. And the reason for the same is his astounding net worth, which comes from his brand endorsements, real estate investments and businesses. According to entrepreneur.com, Sachin Tendulkar’s total net worth is estimated to be around, Rs 1250 crores, which is approximately 170 Million USD.
Sachin is the first cricketer to sign a deal worth Rs 100 crore with MRF in 2001. Sachin had endorsed brands like, Boost, Pepsi, Sunfeast and VISA in the past and is currently the brand ambassador of BMW, SBI Mutual Funds, IDBI Life Insurance, Luminous and Apollo Tyres. He is also the owner of the popular 100MB app. The yearly income from his brand endorsements is nearly 17 to 20 crores and it forms a major source of his earnings.
Sachin Tendulkar owns a luxurious house at Perry Cross Road in Bandra West, Mumbai, which he bought in 2007 for Rs 39 crore. The 6000, sq. ft., mansion was built in 1926 and was originally known as ‘Dorab Villa’. Other than their Perry Cross bungalow, Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar are proud owners of an apartment at the luxurious Rustomjee Seasons in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai, which had costed the couple Rs 7.15 crore in 2018.
Sachin is fond of cars and is a proud owner of quite a few luxurious brands which includes, Ferrari 360 Modena, Nissan GT-R, BMW i8, BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz, BMW X5M, BMW M6 and many more. The cars owned by the ‘Master Blaster’ is valued approximately Rs 20 crore.
In 1995, Sachin Tendulkar had made a contract with Mark Mascarenhas's sports management firm, WorldTel for the value of Rs 30 crore. He owns a football team, Kochi ISL in Indian Super League Football and team Bengaluru Blasters in Premier Badminton League. Sachin also owns restaurants in Mumbai and Bangalore. In 2002, he opened his first restaurant called Tendulkar’s in Mumbai, partnered with hotelier, Sanjay Narang. He then opened another one, named Sachin’s in Mumbai and Bangalore.
Sachin Tendulkar is undoubtedly the king of cricket, but as they say, behind every successful man, there is a woman. And in Sachin’s case, it was his beautiful wife, Anjali Tendulkar. It was in 1990, when a 17-year-old young boy, Sachin Tendulkar had seen Anjali Mehta for the first time at the Mumbai airport and it was love at first sight. However, Sachin being a shy guy didn’t make the first move and it was Anjali, who had somehow managed to get his phone number. And there began the beautiful story of Sachin and Anjali.
A doctor by profession, Anjali had decided to take a step back in her career to raise their family and had let her man focus on the game and that is what we call selfless love. During his farewell speech at the Wankhede Stadium in 2013, an emotional Sachin Tendulkar had thanked his wife and had stated, “I know Anjali being a doctor, there was a wonderful career in front of her. When we decided to have a family, Anjali decided to step back and say ‘you continue with your cricket and I’ll take responsibility of the family’. Without that, I don’t think I would have been able to play cricket freely and without any stress. Thanks for bearing with all my fuss and frustrations and all sorts of rubbish I’ve spoken. You’re the best partnership I’ve had in my life.”
