Following Saif Ali Khan’s surgery, his doctors opened up about the injuries he had suffered. The actor sustained six wounds, and two of them were particularly deep, as the knife blade was lodged into his spine. As per a report by PTI, Dr Nitin Dange has stated that an emergency operation took place to remove the knife and to repair the leaking spinal fluid, while the other wounds were treated by the plastic surgery team. As per the doctor, the actor is stable now. Dr Dange said:

"As Saif Ali Khan is out of danger, doctors from the Lilavati Hospital have shared the details about the emergency operation that took place. As per a doctor, 2.5 inches of knife was removed from the actor's wounds, which was lodged in his spine and caused the leaking out of his spinal fluid. The actor sustained a total of six wounds, and two of them were major."

Now, an image of the knife blade extracted from Saif’s spine has surfaced online. The blade was placed in a medical tray and still had Saif’s blood on it. Another tray beside the first had a surgical cloth in it that was soaked red with blood.

However, the surfaced image does call into question the matter of patient confidentiality, as it seems someone from the hospital staff might have leaked the picture. For the unversed, the latest reports suggested that Saif was still unconscious and being monitored in the ICU. Thus, it is unlikely that he could have given consent for the picture to be shared online.
