Saif Ali Khan is one of the finest actors in Bollywood. Over his decade-long career, the Nawab has given us some fantastic movies to drool over. However, he has a knack for landing into controversies. Recently, Saif played the Hindu brahmin, 'Raavan', in the mythological film, Adipurush, and the netizens are brutally trolling his beared look.
Talking about his personal life, Saif Ali Khan had tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor Khan on October 16, 2012. Together, they are blessed with two kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. From being the target of love jihad to facing backlash from the netizens for naming their children after the invaders, the royal couple has gone through a lot.
On October 3, 2022, while scrolling through our Twitter feed, we stumbled upon a few pictures of Saif Ali Khan from the upcoming film, Adipurush, featuring Prabhas in the lead. In the photo, we can spot Saif in a beardy avatar and kohl-rimmed eyes, making a ghastly face. As soon as the clips from the movie went viral on the internet, netizens started to troll the actor for portraying the Hindu brahmin, 'Raavan', in the wrong way.
Many criticised Saif Ali Khan and the filmmakers for depicting the infamous villain of the mythology, Ramayan, 'Raavan', with beard. One user wrote, “He is looking more like Babar or Aurangzeb or Taimur but certainly not Raavan.” Another netizen commented, “How is this look of Raavan? Raavan was a Hindu Brahmin from Northern Region.”
Earlier, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were mercilessly trolled for naming their kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan after invaders. Reacting to the trolls, in an interview with The Times Of India, Saif had said that commenting on negative news is not worth his time. In his words:
“The world is not an equal place; people are not equally happy. We're very privileged people, and I think we're good people. We pay our taxes, we're legal people, and we work hard to entertain and we do well, and we contribute a fair amount of positivity to this world. And to comment on people who are contributing negativity and dividing and being terrible is really not worth it. I try and stay off reading that and focussing on something else.”
