Saif Ali Khan and his family faced a tough time when the actor was stabbed by an intruder, who reportedly barged into his Bandra apartment. Saif tried to prevent the intruder from causing any harm to his family by fighting him, and in the process, he got stabbed six times. Reportedly, the actor is out of danger now, and he can be discharged within a few days. Police, on the other hand, had been trying to detain the main accused in the case, and they could reportedly do the same in the wee hours of January 19, 2025.
On January 18, 2025, Mumbai police arrested Saif Ali Khan's alleged attacker, Aakash Kailash Kanojia while he was travelling on the Jnaneswari Express train from Durg. After the same, IANS reported that in the wee hours of January 19, 2025, the police detained the accused from Thane. As per a report by the Free Press Journal, the 24-year-old accused has accepted entering into the actor's house and attacking him. As per the same report, the accused used to live in Worli and was employed in a pub near the Coast Guard, wherein he committed theft and was sacked from the job for it. Sources revealed that his name is Mohammed Aliyan, but he changed it to Vijay Das, so that he won't get caught. He reportedly was from Bengal and was a house-keeping staff at Ricky’s bar in Thane.
The incident certainly left the entire Bollywood in shock, and it was Kareena who was deeply shaken by this. As per reports, after she was a bit stable, she gave her statement. She, in her statement, said that she was scared and it was Saif who intervened to prevent the intruder from harming their younger son, Jeh. She added that her husband saved the women and the children in their house, and the intruder didn't steal anything from their home.
On the other hand, Jeh's current nanny, Eliyama Philips, in her statement shared that she was the one to encounter the intruder first. She mentioned that she saw a shadow moving toward Jeh's bed, and she instantly reached there and saved the little one. When she confronted the intruder, he reportedly asked for Rs. 1 crore ransom. In the process of saving Jeh, Eliyama got hurt and the little one got scared. Saif and Kareena then entered the room, and the actor started fighting him.
The intruder had a knife, while Saif had no weapon, which caused him to sustain deep wounds, two being serious. During the fight, a piece of the knife reportedly got broken and was lodged in the spine of the actor, which caused the leakage of his spinal fluid. During the emergency operation, the 2.5 inches of the knife was removed from the actor's spine.
