Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About Surviving Deadly Stabbing Incident, 'It Wasn't My Time To Go...'

Saif Ali Khan is a well-known actor in the Hindi film industry who underwent one of the most traumatic experiences of his life at the beginning of 2025. He and his family were left shaken after an intruder entered his house and stabbed him at his Bandra residence. The actor who tried to protect his family was left with major wounds after the incident. Although, Saif Ali Khan is trying to move forward from the dark chapter in his life, he learnt some important lessons from the life-changing incident. In a new interview, the actor recalled his experience and shared some big takeaways from the incident. 

Saif Ali Khan reveals his most important takeaway from the horrifying stabbing incident 

Saif Ali Khan is on a promotional spree for his upcoming film, Jewel Thief. It is his first release after his home invasion and stabbing incident, so the media has often taken the opportunity to inquire about it. The actor recently sat down for an interview with the Times Of India, wherein he was asked about some important takeaways from the incident. In his response, Saif mentioned that the biggest lesson he learnt from the incident is that everyone should lock their doors and remain vigilant. Sharing how people must take their home's security seriously, Saif said:

"My takeaway is that you must lock doors and be careful. We have a lot, and a lot do not. So, while I am grateful, we must understand that and be careful. Lock things. Block access points. And smarten up security."

Saif continued by mentioning that he never believed in security and didn't like it when guards surrounded him everywhere. However, he understands that having security around is significant. At the same time, Saif admitted that he believes he has been given more life to make some more good films. In his words:

"It's sad. I never believed in security. Hate to have people around me, but it needs to be there, for a while at least, I guess. It wasn't my time to go. Maybe I'm meant to do a few more good films and have some more nice times with family and friends. Do some more charity! Just make sure you're damn good. Work hard, and hopefully, the world will appreciate it."

When Saif Ali Khan recalled what happened on the night of his stabbing incident 

Previously, Saif Ali Khan sat down for an interview with the Bombay Times and recounted the chilling incident in the early hours of January 16, 2025. He mentioned that his wife, Kareena, returned late at night, and they went to sleep before their household staff alerted them about the presence of an intruder at their home. Since it was late, no one picked up their calls, and Saif himself went to tackle the person. Sharing how things unfolded, Saif said:

"Kareena was shouting for a rickshaw, a cab, or anything. I said, I kind of feel some pain. There's something wrong with my back. She said – you go to the hospital, and I'll go to my sister's house. She was making calls frantically – but nobody was up. And we looked at each other, and I said, 'I'm fine. I'm not going to die.' And Taimur also asked me – 'Are you going to die?' I said, 'No'."

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his residence in Bandra in the early hours of January 16, 2025. The actor reportedly tried to tackle an illegal intruder in his youngest son, Jeh's room, sustaining six major stab wounds in in his leg, neck and near his spine. Also, a female employee at their residence was attacked. Saif immediately went to the Lilavati hospital and underwent immediate surgeries. On the other hand, police caught accused, Shariful Islam while Saif was discharged after spending five days in the hospital. Following the incident, Saif and Kareena have decided to keep their kids, Taimur and Jeh, away from the media spotlight and requested that they not click their random photos. Moroever, Saif Ali Khan has increased the security at his home.
