Saif Ali Khan is among the most loved actors in Hindi film industry. Despite being from a wealthy background and the son of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, he has never shied away from working hard. During the last two decades of his journey in Bollywood, he has played versatile roles, experimented with new projects, and been honest about his challenges. Consequently, fans were shocked when they learnt about a potential attack on the actor in the early hours of January 16, 2025. The actor's team recently shared an official update about his health and injury.
There were different news reports sharing different narratives regarding the attack on Saif Ali Khan at his residence. So, to clear all the misconceptions, the actor's publicist has now shared an official statement revealing the truth behind the incident. The update read:
"There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation."
Earlier, the police sources confirmed to the Hindustan Times that the Tandav actor was injured in a break-in attempt at his and Kareena's house. For those unaware, Khan and his wife, Kareena Kapoor, have been married for around 12 years and live in the Satguru Sharan building in Mumbai's Bandra West. The couple live with their sons, Taimur (8) and Jeh (4). Investigations are underway, and police are yet to make any arrests.
Earlier, it was revealed that Saif had been admitted to the nearby Lilavati Hospital for treatment at later hours of the night. Consequently, the COO of Lilavati Hospital, Dr Niraj Uttamani, shared that the actor sustained six injuries, two of which were severe. One is close to his spine, another near his neck, and the other being evaluated.
He mentioned that Khan is being treated under the care of a team of specialists. Also, the authorities later added that Saif's surgery began at 5:30 am and was still underway by 8:30 am. However, the doctors admitted that they would need more time to provide a clear statement related to the exact extent of his injuries. Meanwhile, the actor had recently made headlines when he was spotted with his daughter, Sara Ali Khan at the airport and fans praised the father-daughter duo's appearance together.
