The lovely couple of the late Dilip Kumar and his wife, Saira Banu, is often regarded as one of the most loved and admired real-life couples in the history of Indian cinema. The way Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu had lived their married life is indeed a fitting example for everyone, who wants to know how to live a happy married life. However, there's no denying the fact that Saira Banu had always been a pillar of support for her husband, Dilip Kumar, most notably in his older years.

Everyone is aware of how hard Saira Banu's life has become after the demise of her husband, Dilip Kumar, but it seems like it's worse than what we might think. In a recent interview with a news portal, veteran actress, Saira Banu opened up about her life after the demise of her husband and legendary actor, Dilip Kumar. Here's what she said!

In an interview with PTI, Saira Banu talked about living her life without her husband, Dilip Kumar. Reflecting on how her health has deteriorated since her husband passed away on July 7, 2021, the doting wife admitted that doctors had told her strictly to indulge in conversation with people. Talking more about her lonely life, Saira also mentioned the importance of Dilip Kumar in her life. The actress stated that if she had chosen between all the wealth in the world and Dilip Kumar, she would have chosen her husband. Then, pouring more love on her late husband, Saira Banu said:

"My life is 'pheeka' without Yousuf saheb. This is a different kind of love. You just cannot replace some people in your life. Give me all the wealth in the world and Dilip saheb on one side, and I would want Dilip saheb."

Last month on June 14, 2022, late iconic actor, Dilip Kumar was announced as the recipient of the Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award, and it was his wife, Saira Banu, who received the prestigious award on the late actor's behalf. While accepting the award, Saira Banu couldn't hold back her tears, which was a heart-breaking moment. While accepting the award, the doting wife also admitted that she could still feel her husband around her. Saira had also appealed to the Government of India for a Bharat Ratna for Dilip Kumar. She had said:

"It should happen, because Dilip Sahab has been the 'Kohinoor' for Hindustan. So 'Kohinoor' should definitely receive a Bharat Ratna. He's still here. He is not in my memories, I believe it's the truth that he is here with me at every step, because this is how I will be able to live my life. I will never think that he's not here. Wo mere paas hain, hamesha mera sahara banke rahenge-- mera Kohinoor.”

The iconic actor, Dilip Kumar was no doubt the dream man of every woman in the '60s. Whether we talk about his charming personality that had captivated the hearts of millions of girls worldwide or his acting chops, he was indeed out of this world. And just among his million fans was the gorgeous actress, Saira Banu, who had been madly in love with him since the age of 12. When the actress turned 22, she married the man of her dreams, Dilip Kumar, who was 44 years old by then. However, the huge age difference was never a problem for the lovebirds, who were crazily in love. They had got married on October 11, 1966, and lived happily until death separated them.

For the unversed, Dilip Kumar had passed away at the age of 98 on July 7, 2021, and was buried at the Juhu Muslim Cemetery with state honours!
