Ahaan Would Say Sorry After Extra Takes, Not 'Nakchada Or Corrupted', Says Co-star, Rajesh Kumar

It has been decades since a romantic Bollywood film ignited a frenzy among fans and became a blockbuster. However, it seems that Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, has broken this years-long drought of romantic movies. Starring two debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has received huge praise. Recently, the newcomers' co-star, Rajesh Kumar, opened up on their behaviour on the sets of the film.

Rajesh Kumar reveals that he thanked Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's parents

Seasoned actor, Rajesh Kumar, known for his iconic role in Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai, recently opened up in an interview with Galatta about working with two debutants in the Mohit Suri-directed film, Saiyaara. The actor said that he told both Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda that he wanted to meet their parents. Rajesh then stated that when he finally got the chance to meet them, he thanked the stars' parents for bringing them up so well. The actor was quoted as saying:

"I told both Aneet and Ahaan that make me meet your parents. I just went and thanked them for bringing them up so well and that is what is reflecting on screen. They are not corrupted. Having said that, there is a long way for them to go.”

Then Rajesh revealed that Ahaan was considerably very nervous on the first day of the shoot. Incidentally, Ahaan's first shot was with Rajesh. Hence, the latter said that only on his third take, the debutant delivered the scene so well that everyone clapped for him. Meanwhile, talking about Aneet, whose on-screen father's role is played by Rajesh, the actor said that she helped him a lot with speaking Punjabi for the film. Aneet would talk to him in hardcore Punjabi to let him get the hang of the language. Rajesh said about the first shot of Ahaan:

“Ahaan was so nervous before his first shot. We shot that together. The ones who have watched the film will remember the scene where he quietly hands me a bag. That was his first shot for the film. But, he did it so well in just the third take. After the shot ended, people clapped for him and then he felt relaxed.”

Rajesh Kumar says that Ahaan and Aneet are very grounded

Rajesh said that despite the immense success of the film, Ahaan and Aneet are still very humble and grounded. He said that Aneet has yet to realise that the film is 'working wonders'. So, people who realise things late do not let success get to their heads, said Rajesh. The actor further stated that Ahaan and Aneet are so grounded that he doesn't think that they will have become 'nakchade' stars. Rajesh also claimed that Ahaan Panday has great heroism and screen presence as a star. Talking about the debutants, the actor said:

“If you look into Aneet’s interviews, you will see that she is yet to believe that her film is working wonders. When people realise things late, success doesn’t take over them. These people are so grounded that I don’t think Aneet or Ahaan will ever be a nakchade stars. They will be sought after actors.”
