Saiyami Kher Revealed She Was Asked To Get Lip Fillers And A Nose Job, Says 'Like A Factory-Made..'

Saiyami Kher is an actress who has primarily worked in Hindi and Telugu films. She made her acting debut in 2015 with the Tullu film, Rey and her Hindi debut with Mirzaya in 2016. However, the actress, in a recent conversation with Bollywood Bubble, opened up about how she was advised to get lip fillers and a nose job and how she has faced criticism for not undergoing cosmetic procedures. 

Saiyami Kher opened up about being asked to get cosmetic work done

Cosmetic procedures are not rare among celebrities or even the common public in today's times. However, getting work done has turned into a two-edged sword for those who have gotten the work done and those who haven't. Nonetheless, while there are some actresses like Khushi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Shruti Haasan who have opened up about undergoing the knife and faced criticism for it, there are also actresses like Saiyami Kher who have refused the same, and yet, still have been criticised. 

Saiyami opened up about the same in a recent interview and revealed how she was pressured to get the procedures done to meet the beauty standards. However, the strong-headed actress refused to undergo the knife. She added that if getting the work done makes someone happier and more comfortable in their skin, they should definitely go for it. However, one cannot be so affected by what others have to say about their appearance. She was quoted as saying:

"Only on actresses? No, I feel it’s actors, actresses—everyone. I feel if someone is not comfortable or happy with the way they look, and they are okay with doing something [to change that, by all means, they should do it if it’s going to make them feel like a better, happier person. But you can't be so affected by what the world thinks—that's my opinion. Some people told me I needed to get a lip job done because my lips weren't full enough. They also said I should get a nose job."

Saiyami Kher on being comfortable in her own skin

In the same conversation, Saiyami Kher added that she doesn't feel the need for cosmetic procedures. She revealed that she likes her lips the way they are, as they are unique to her. She shared that if everyone turned to cosmetic work, then everyone would end up looking like factory-made products. Saiyami stressed that the focus should be on a person's performance and not on their appearance. She was quoted as saying:

"I like my lips the way they are—I have no problem with them. This is unique to me. Otherwise, everyone ends up looking like a factory-made product. You're made a certain way, and that gives you authenticity. So I feel we should foster a culture where there isn’t so much insecurity. It shouldn’t become a source of insecurity. It should be more about—'Is this person's performance touching me or not?' It's not about whether their lips are big or not."

Saiyami Kher on the work front

Saiyami Kher was recently seen in the action film, Jaat. The film starred, Randeep Hooda and Sunny Deol in key roles. It was directed by Gopichand Malineni, marking his debut in the Hindi film industry. The film also starred Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar and Babloo Prithiveeraj in supporting roles. Jaat opened to a mixed response. However, it managed to cross the century and closed at Rs. 118 crore worldwide at the box office.
