Sajid Khan is an eminent personality in the Indian entertainment fraternity known for his jovial nature and hatke filmmaking skills. He is also the brother of entertainment queen, Farah Khan and the son of ace filmmaker, Kamran Khan. For the uninitiated, Kamran Khan was a filmmaker, actor, and director who has made popular movies like Watan Se Door, Ilzam, and Beqasoor, among many others. However, the glorious and celebrated filmmaker had a severe downfall after his finances suffered and he succumbed to alcohol.
In a recent conversation with Timeout With Ankit , Sajid Khan revealed that he and his sister, Farah Khan’s life changed after their father lost all his money. Talking about the events that led to his father’s downfall, Sajid revealed that after his birth, his father decided to make an A-grade film and cast Sanjeev Kumar in it, but the latter left the film midway. This caused a financial loss for Kamran Khan, who then succumbed to alcohol and soon became an addict. In Sajid’s words:

“My father used to make B-grade timepass mazedaar films with Dara Singh. When Farah was born, my father was going through a very good time. When I was born, he gave his first flop! Hence, I say, ‘I started my life with a flop’. He must have thought that since he now has a son, he needs to make bigger films. He decided to make an A-grade big film with Sanjeev Kumar. That film never got made. Aadhi picture karke Sanjeev Kumar bhaag gaya. My father lost all his money. Then my father became an alcoholic and my parents got divorced.”

Sajid Khan participated in Bigg Boss 16, where he revealed that he saw his father breathe his last in front of his eyes. He narrated that his father’s liver burst due to alcoholism, and his eyes and mouth were bleeding as he collapsed and soon passed away. The incident left a huge impact on Sajid as he saw it all in front of his eyes at a very young age.

Sajid Khan also shared that during that time of crisis, it was only Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, who extended a hand of assistance towards his family. Sajid Khan elaborated that after his dad passed away, Salim Khan came to the graveyard and handed them some cash, which helped them to sustain themselves during the difficult time.

In the same conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Sajid Khan revealed that he used to host events and DJ-ing during his college days. For which he got selected as a host in Antakshari but at the last moment he ran away, which was very unprofessional. Sajid further added:
“I used to do shows in college where I used to earn Rs. 200 to Rs. 300. Then, in the early 90s, Zee TV started. I was called for auditions for the show Antakshari. I used to do mimicry, sing, dance, DJ-ing, etc. I got selected as a host for Antakshari. That was my first break on television. But before the shoot of the first episode, I ran away. That was the most unprofessional thing I have done in my entire life.”
