In a piece of heartbreaking news, veteran actor, Mukul Dev, who had left a powerful mark in the Hindi, Punjabi and Telugu movie industry, passed away on May 23, 2025. The actor, aged 54, was battling a short illness a few days before his death. The exact cause of his death is not been known, but his health deteriorated on May 23, 2025, which then led to his demise. Mukul's friends from the industry are sad and shocked. Salman Khan is very upset with the demise of Mukul and shared a heart-wrenching post about the late actor with whom 'Bhaijaan' shared screen space in Jai Ho.
Mukul had played the role of a villain in Salman Khan's 2014 movie, Jai Ho. A while back, the actor took to his Instagram stories to share a picture from the movie where both stars were seen. As seen in the snap, the late actor with Salman was seen in an intense scene. Salman, while paying his respect to Mukul, took to his Instagram stories and wrote:
"Miss you my dear brother Mukul. Rest in Peace".
Mukul's last rites took place at Delhi's Lodhi Crematorium in the Nizamuddin area on May 24, 2025. The visuals are heartbreaking as Rahul was seen performing the funeral rites of his brother and was surrounded by the family, who were lamenting in grief. The scenes were very emotional to watch, and fans even took to their social media handles to remember what a beautiful human Mukul was. Rahul had earlier taken to his Instagram stories to reveal that his brother, Mukul, was no more. He shared a snap of his late brother and penned:
"Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night… He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Please join us for cremation at 5 PM."
Mukul, back in 1996, began his career in the acting line with a TV serial named Mumkin. He had played the role of 'Vijay Pandey'. The actor, with time, made a lasting impact with his hit roles in serials like Gharwali Uparwali, Kasshish, Ssshhhh…Phir Koi Hai, and Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan. Mukul also did movies like Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, apart from Jai Ho and was known to go skin deep in every character. Mukul had also acted in Ek Se Badh Kar Ek, which used to come on Doordarshan. It was a Bollywood countdown show. He was also the host of Fear Factor India Season 1. When it came to Bollywood, he debuted with Dastak, where he had essayed the role of 'ACP Rohit Malhotra'. The movie was also the debut of ex-Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen.
Mukul was born in Delhi to a Punjabi family and was more than just a star. He was a trained, licenced commercial pilot who got his training from the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi in Uttar Pradesh. The late actor used to fly professionally for 10 years. He also had an aeronautical training institute in Delhi and used to manage his passion for aircraft and art with a lot of discipline.
