It has only been a day since the grand premiere of Salman Khan and Rasmika Mandanna’s high-budget film, Sikandar, and theatres are already empty. Moviegoers who filled the theatres on Day 1 of the film were seen leaving the theatres disappointed, to say the least. Fans are taking over social media platforms to express their disappointment with the movie, and some are even calling it the worst film of his career.
During the grand trailer launch of Sikandar, Salman Khan confidently stated that, festival or not, his loyal fans always ensure his films surpass Rs 100 crore, and this time, it would cross Rs 200 crore. He remarked:
“Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive, non-festive — it’s the love of the people. Picture achi ho ya buri ho, wo Rs 100 crore toh paar kara hi dete hain… Rs 100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hain, ab Rs 200 crore”.
However, despite Salman Khan’s confidence in its being a blockbuster hit, audiences are severely underwhelmed at how it turned out, from the plot of the movie to the limited acting, poor background music, and more. Social media is flooded with reactions from disappointed fans who claim Sikandar lacks a compelling story. One viewer ranted on Instagram:
“Jitne bhi log baithe the hall pe, sab ka muh ho gaya bandar jaisa… First review kisney daala tha, usko pakad ke maaro. Wo purane zamane ke 10-20 saal pehle jo movies milti thi, jahan pe hum dekhte the ki ek villain hai, uske bete ko maar doge toh hero usko chhorega nahin. Lekin aapko pata hai ki hero hi jeetne wala hai… Visuals kaafi zyada ghatiya quality ke hai. Is movie ko 1 star bhi nahin milna chahiye.”
While Salman Khan's star power has always managed to pull in crowds, this time, it seems that even his most loyal fans are struggling to defend his performance in Sikandar. Many have criticised his acting, calling it uninspired and unnatural. A particularly harsh comment read, "Yeh sabse wahiyat movie thi life ki. Salman ki acting ekdum wahiyat hai!" One moviegoer bluntly said, "Theatre was empty on Eid. It's a flop!" Another joked, "It still baffles me that four adults wrote this nonsense and spent Rs 200 crore on it."

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), fans left a variety of reviews, ranging from lukewarm remarks to outright brutality. One Salman fan expressed his disappointment and penned:
“Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan dil se hurt hu. First time aapke liye negative bol raha hu bhai chor do movie banana isse best kuch nahi bolunga… na aap me energy hai na hi kych dil dukh gaya hai ek hi jaisi film bakwas bakwas bakwas. I am done. Ab koi ummeed nahi hai. #SikandarReview”
Given Salman Khan’s massive fan following, Sikandar was expected to shatter box office records. However, the film underperformed on its opening day. Compared to Vicky Kaushal’s mega-hit, Chhaava, which made Rs 31 crore on the first day of its release, Salman’s Sikandar could collect just Rs 26 crore, which is quite low considering his stardom in the industry.
While Sikandar promised action-packed entertainment, it seems to have left audiences frustrated rather than thrilled. Do you think Sikandar might turn out to be a big flop?
