'Vodka Never Stopped Flowing, Russians Rolled Down Drinking, Salman Didn't Sway' Recalls Radhika Rao

Salman Khan's legendary parties and large-hearted nature is a well-known fact in Bollywood. Many of his co-stars have often discussed Salman's generosity, fun-loving nature and tasty treats. Known for his larger-than-life on-screen image, Salman's off-screen personality is no less, which has a strong impact on his colleagues and fans. One such interesting anecdote was recalled by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who directed the actor in the 2005 film, Lucky: No Time For Love. Here's what happened.

Radhika Rao reveals Russian crew was stunned to see Salman Khan's unaffected after a long party

Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao recently sat down for an interview with Hindi Rush. During the conversation, they recalled an amusing anecdote from their time working with Salman Khan in Lucky: No Time for Love. They shared that they worked with some Russian crew members on the film, who were proud of their drinking culture and couldn't resist saying 'no' to an invitation by Salman Khan to a party. Radhika and Vinay warned them that they wouldn't be able to handle the drinks, but they went anyway and regretted it later. They recalled: 

"We told them not to go. We told them that they wouldn't come to work the next day. They said, 'We are Russians, nobody can out-drink us'. We said, 'All the best, this is Salman Khan's party, don't underestimate…' The vodka never stopped flowing, and the people kept drinking. They wanted to prove that they are the best in the world when it comes to vodka consumption."

Radhika recalled that Salman threw a grand party with lots of drink and food which never ended. After Russians finally couldn't take more drinks, some rolled down on the steps under its influence. The next day, some came late on the set, and others suffered from extreme headaches. Since the Russians were particular about their professionalism, they were unahppy over their. Adding more to their plight, they were shocked that despite drinking with them, Salman remained unaffected and came to shoot for the next day, which meant others had to work as well. Radhika shared: 

"They said that the most shameful thing was that Salman never even swayed. He was standing like a rock. They said, 'All of us were rolling down, throwing up, and he was also drinking with us, but nothing happened to him'."

When Sonu Sood recalled how Salman Khan once tried to spike his drink

In an old interview, Salman Khan's Dabangg co-star, Sonu Sood, once recalled an interesting anecdote and shared that he is a teetotaler. Consequently, many stars in the industry have tried to make him consume drinks, including Salman Khan. Sharing his experience, he said:

"I don't drink at all. Many co-stars have tried to make me try alcohol ki' Isko aaj try karva ke rahenge '. Many have tried spiking my drink secretly. Salman bhai ko bada shauk rehta tha, kehte ki, ‘Ek kaam kar zara, Red Bull ke andar daal ke laa thodi.”

Salman Khan's career so far

Salman Khan is the son of Salim Khan, who made his debut in the 1988 film, Biwi Ho Toh Aisi and got his breakthrough with the film, Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989. He has had a career spanning more than three decades and has given memorable roles in films like Baaghi, Karan Arjun, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Tere Naam, Wanted, Dabangg. Ek Tha Tiger, and more. Salman was last seen in the film, Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna.
