The duo had met each other on the sets of Yeh Maaya Chesave in 2009. They had dated for a while and had tied the knot on October 6, 2017 in a dreamy wedding. The couple had first gotten married according to typical South Indian ritual and later in a Christian wedding. They are the perfect exemplars of opposites attract as Samantha is known for her bindaas attitude and an avid social media user, whereas her husband, Chay is completely opposite to her and likes to keep his personal life out of media glares. But together they make for a perfect team and a recent post is proof of the same.
On May 21, 2020, Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya attended the roka ceremony of their best friend, Rana Daggubati and Miheeka Bajaj. On May 22, 2020, Samantha took to her Instagram handle and shared a solo picture of her handsome husband, Naga Chaitanya. Along with the picture, she wrote a romantic note which can be read as “After sending mommy, aunties, sister, friends, very straight male friends it’s now Instagram’s turn ... 'See eee my husband looks so handsome no???? (husband is somewhere digging a large pit to jump into right now).” And it was Naga’s comment on his wife’s post that was unmissable. Naga wrote, “Okay now…this looks like one of those paid partnership posts.”
Samantha and Naga’s best friend, Rana Daggubati had gotten rokafied to the love of his life, Miheeka Bajaj in an intimate ceremony at Hyderabad in the presence of their close friends and family members. Samantha took to her Instagram handle and shared a group picture from the function and wrote, "Thankyou for bringing us the best news of 2020. @ranadaggubati @miheeka... here’s to your happily ever after." She also took to her Instagram stories and shared an adorable candid picture with her hubby, Naga. Samantha looked ethereal in an ethnic yellow dress whereas Naga complemented his wife in check shirt and trousers. She wrote, “When you get to dress up after 2 months” atop the picture. It had taken 8 long years for Naga and Samantha to confess their feelings for each other. Talking about the same, Samantha had once stated that the time was never right in their case. When she had really liked him, he was not in the right space and when he had started responding positively, something or other happened. She had retorted that it took them 8 years to come on the same page. But when they did, all the fans of Chay and Sam couldn’t hide their happiness.
Samantha and Naga have completed two years of marital bliss and are enjoying each and every moment of it. In an interaction with Famously Filmfare, Naga couldn’t stop feeling grateful about marrying Samantha and was all praises for her. He had also confessed that she is a devil and he knows all her mischiefs. He had said, “I think there was a point when we both were single. We hung out more than normal. So, automatically things started building between us. I was also mentally looking to settle down. I always looked forward to having a family. So, all those thoughts started flowing in my head and she was right there in front of me. So, I was like she is a known devil (chuckles). I know all her mischief and I am fine with them."
