Samantha Ruth Prabhu is among the most prominent faces in Indian showbiz. She has made a name for herself with her stellar on-screen performances. However, the actress faced a major setback in her career when she was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, leading her to take a break from her career.
After a two-year hiatus, Samantha is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming web series, Citadel: Hunny Bunny, created by the Russo Brothers. The South Indian beauty, who is amongst the highest-paid actresses in the industry, has reportedly hiked her fees for her upcoming spy-thriller, which is scheduled to be released in November 2024.

According to a report by Siasat, Samantha has charged around Rs. 10 crore for her role in Citadel: Hunny Bunny, co-starring Varun Dhawan. Prior to this, the actress had charged Rs. 3.5-4 crore for films. Meanwhile, she received a paycheck of Rs. 5 crore for her electrifying dance in the song, Oo Antava, for the film, Pushpa: The Rise.
While Samantha is currently stepping on the stairs of success one after the other, her life in the past few years wasn't that easy. After a nasty divorce from her husband, Naga Chaitanya just after four years of marriage in 2021, she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition, myositis. But Samantha never shied away from publicly acknowledging her battles.

Earlier, when Samantha turned muse for Elle’s cover story for July 2024, she opened up about the challenges she faced in the last couple of years. During the interview, Samantha was quick to reply with a firm no when asked if there was anything she wished to do differently in her life. She further explained the reason behind her answer and stated:
"But looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was discussing this with my friend a while back, and I always thought I didn’t want the last three years to have happened, but now I feel that you have to deal with whatever life throws at you. And as long as you come out of it, you have won. I feel stronger and more rooted than ever."
