Samantha Ruth Prabhu dominated headlines many times, with speculation about her relationship status following her divorce from her first husband, Naga Chaitanya. Her name was also linked quite a lot to popular filmmaker, Raj Nidimoru. However, putting an end to all speculations, Samantha and Raj tied the knot on December 1, 2025. As the actress starts this new chapter in her life, here's look at Samantha's dating history. 

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was once in a relationship with Siddharth 

Siddharth's relationship and love story with his now-wife, Aditi Rao Hydari, has served couple goals for years. However, did you know that he once dated Samantha? Reportedly, while working on the film, Jabardasth, the co-stars fell in love. Several reports suggest that Samantha and Siddharth were in a relationship from 2013 to 2015. Soon after the break-up, Samantha began dating Naga Chaitanya (Chay). 

Although the reason behind Samantha and Siddharth's split has never been made public, the actress subtly hinted at the issues. In an interview with MensXP, Samantha said she would have ended up as the iconic '50s Telugu actress, Savithri, if she had not walked out of a relationship before meeting Chay. For the unversed, Savithri faced a lot of struggles in her personal life when her husband, Gemini Ganesan, had an affair and started a second family while still being married to her. Samantha said:

“I would have fallen into such a crisis in my personal life, just like actress Savithri. But thankfully, very soon, I realized it in the beginning and walked out of the relationship. This was when I sensed that it could end up badly. And then I’m blessed to have a person like Naga Chaitanya in my life. He’s a gem.”

This led to rumours that Siddharth had perhaps cheated on Samantha. Rumours were also rife at the time that the two were in a 'toxic' relationship, and Siddharth did not like the actress being friends with male co-stars. However, Samantha took to her social media and defended the actor by saying that he was a great guy and she wasn't a victim.

When people got to know that Samantha and Chay were dating, it was as if their on-screen love story from the movies was playing out in the real world. The actress had stepped into the acting world beside Chay, as he was the male lead in her debut film, Ye Maaya Chesave. The two became good friends, but as both of them were in relationships already, their bond did not amount to anything more until much later. After getting out of their relationships nearly at the same time, Samantha and Chay began dating. The former couple married on January 29, 2017. 

However, fans were dealt the most shocking news when the beloved former couple issued a joint statement announcing their separation. This statement came just a few days before their fourth anniversary. The exact reason for their split is not known. But the former couple had given conflicting reactions to their bond after the divorce. Chay said that there were no hard feelings between him and Samantha. However, in a Koffee with Karan appearance, the actress said that if she and her ex-husband were in a room, then sharp objects should be hidden. She said:

“There are hard feelings like if you put the both of us in a room you have to hide sharp objects. So as of now, yes. It's not an amicable situation right now. It might be in the future."

Samantha and Raj had been rumoured to be in a relationship since the start of 2025. After months of speculation, the actress made her relationship official with a photo with the filmmaker, which she shared in November 2025. Now, nearly a month after going public, Samantha and Raj tied the knot. Like the actress, it is also Raj's second time at giving marriage another shot. 

Raj Nidimoru is one half of the popular writer-director duo, Raj and DK. They are the creators of popular shows and movies such as Farzi, Family Man, and others. Raj was once married to Shhyamali De. However, the couple, who had tied the knot in 2015, had separated in 2022 and went their separate ways after the divorce. Meanwhile, Samantha and Raj first met during the filming of Family Man 2, which was around 2021. The same year, the actress publicly announced her separation from her husband, Naga Chaitanya.
