Popular South Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is rewriting her story, one page at a time. The actress, who has presently become one of the most popular faces in Indian cinema, has once again captured the spotlight with something deeply personal. Four years after her highly publicised divorce from Naga Chaitanya, the actress seems to have removed her Ye Maaya Chesave (YMC) tattoo, the film that sparked their real-life romance.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, who tied the knot in 2017 after years of dating, shocked fans with their high-profile separation in 2021. But it seems Samantha is slowly wiping away the visible memories of that chapter.
In a new video posted by the actress on her Instagram, Samantha stuns in a backless burgundy dress as she writes ‘Nothing to Hide’ on a glass panel. But it's not the aesthetic visuals that caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans. Many loyal fans of the actress noticed the glaring absence of the ‘YMC’ tattoo on her upper back. The missing ink has triggered speculation that Samantha may have finally gotten it removed.
It didn't take long for Samantha's latest post to go viral on social media, with fans flooding the comment section with their reactions. Comments like “Samantha got her YMC tattoo removed” soon grabbed attention. Other netizens wondered if it was just makeup for the shoot. One user wrote, “But why did she hide her back tattoo?”, and another added, “Maybe it’s concealed for the ad”.

This isn't the first time eagle-eyed fans have noticed changes in Samantha's body inks. Earlier, in March 2025, Samantha posted a picture on Instagram, where a faint outline of her matching forearm tattoo with Chay, featuring two arrows, was barely visible. For the unversed, the tattoo was once proudly sported by both Samantha and Naga Chaitanya when they were together. Years after their separation, it now appears to be fading away, literally.
After her highly publicised divorce from Naga Chaitanya, Samantha keeps making headlines for gradually transforming mementoes of her past. A few months ago, celebrity jeweller, Dhrumit Merulia revealed that the actress had converted her 3-carat princess-cut diamond engagement ring, gifted by Chaitanya, into a necklace pendant. Though Samantha hasn’t confirmed this publicly, she has been seen wearing the piece in public, fuelling a fresh wave of discussion. She has also changed her wedding dress into a black statement look.
While Samantha has been gradually reclaiming her identity following the separation, her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, has already moved on. In December 2024, Chay tied the knot with model and actress, Sobhita Dhulipala, in a low-key wedding filled with traditions.
Samantha, on the other hand, has recently been linked to The Family Man and Citadel filmmaker, Raj Nidimoru. Reports even claimed the duo were searching for homes to move in together. A source told Pinkvilla that Raj divorced his wife, Shhyamali De, in 2022 and grew close to Samantha during the filming of Citadel. However, Samantha’s team has rubbished the cohabitation rumours, calling them baseless. Neither party has confirmed nor denied the alleged relationship.
Do you think Samantha Ruth Prabhu might really have removed her YMC tattoo? Let us know.
