Four months have passed since comedian-YouTuber Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent, got mired in controversy after Ranveer Allahabadia, a.k.a. BeerBiceps, made crass remarks on parental intimacy. The backlash that followed soon turned into a heated national and political debate regarding the limits of comments thrown about to induce laughter. The show’s host, Samay Raina, had to take down all IGL videos from YouTube, leaving fans worried if the show would be back again. Now, after four months of controversy, the show has made an unexpected digital comeback.
Recently, fans of India’s Got Latent, who had been waiting eagerly for any update on the show, were surprised to see clips from the series quietly reappear on a new YouTube channel titled India’s Got Latent Clips. This development comes after the show's abrupt removal earlier this year following a major backlash involving popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, a.k.a. BeerBiceps.
For those who missed it, the IGL controversy erupted in February 2025 when Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment to a contestant involving their parents during an episode of the show. Adding to the heat, Apoorva Mukhija, a.k.a. The Rebel Kid, who was also on the judges’ panel that day, got backlash for her response to a contestant’s vulgar remarks.
However, it was especially Ranveer’s remark that triggered massive public outrage on social media, sparking debates on the ethics and responsibilities of digital content creators. Things soon escalated into a legal issue, with multiple FIRs reportedly filed against Ranveer, Samay Raina, and co-panellists, including Apoorva and Ashish Chanchalani.
Responding to the growing backlash, Samay Raina issued a public statement expressing regret for the way things turned out. All episodes and clips from the show were promptly removed from his main YouTube channel. Samay’s statement read:

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
Months after the controversy, several video segments of India’s Got Latent have now resurfaced on a new YouTube channel, India’s Got Latent Clips. The page already features more than 500 videos, including public IGL content and episodes that were previously booked for members only. While the original channel has remained inactive, fans are quickly flocking to the new channel to rewatch their favourite moments from the show.
Social media has been flooded with updates from IGL fans who poured in their excitement on the resurfacing of the show’s clips. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), netizens posted their updates. One user wrote, “Finallyyyyyyyy… comeback ho hi gaya Latent ka." Another tweeted, “The world is healing. India's Got Latent videos are back on YouTube.” A third user wrote, “2025 is the year of comeback.”
While it is not confirmed whether IGL will make a comeback with a new season, things are looking up for Samay Raina once again. He is currently on an international comedy tour across Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, which began on June 5, 2025, and is set to conclude in Sydney on July 20, 2025.
