All moms are working mothers, but those who are trying to balance their careers and household responsibilities, have achieved a different level of multitasking. From people suggesting they quit their job to interviewers asking how they would manage their household and work, the life of employed mums isn’t easy.
One such celebrity mother is Sangita Ghosh, who made a selfish decision to live away from her 9-month-old baby girl to fulfil her professional responsibilities. Sangita is a television actress and she won hearts with her stint in Swarna Ghar, Desh Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, Viraasat and many more. In 2011, she had tied the knot with her horse riding trainer in a hush-hush wedding ceremony.
In a recent conversation with the Hindustan Times, Sangita Ghosh said that she is not guilty of living away from her 9-month-old daughter because she loves herself and her job. The actress mentioned that she wants to provide a better future for her daughter, and she needs to earn enough money for that.
Sangita believes that she has left her daughter in the right hands, i.e. her husband, Shailendra Singh Rajput. She said:
“It’s always a struggle to spend quality time with my husband and my daughter. She is my life, but I don’t feel guilty about being away from her, as I love my job. I am dedicated to my family, but I also love myself. What I am doing is ultimately for my family. I know my child is in good hands as she has a fantastic father.”
Due to the continuous shooting schedule, it was not flexible for Sangita to travel from Mumbai to Punjab. So, she shifted her base to Chandigarh for an extended period.
In the same conversation, Sangita said that she is setting an example for her daughter and hoping that she will be proud of her mother one day. In her words:
“I really hope my daughter is proud of me someday. I would like to set an example for her and I feel good about this. I spend as much time possible with her. It is undoubtedly very challenging, but we try to focus on spending quality time rather than quantity, which is what matters.”
She recently went to the Golden Temple in Amritsar with her hubby and daughter for the first time. Talking about their first trip to Amritsar together in 12 years of marriage, Sangita said:
“We have been married for almost 12 years now, but this was our first trip to Amritsar and Golden Temple. In fact, it was the first trip for the three of us like this, so it was great fun.”
We love how Sangita is teaching millions of working mothers to live a guilt-free professional life!
