Further in the conversation, Sania Mirza expressed her views on how women postpone their decision to embrace motherhood when they're in the thick of their careers and shared that people judged her when she chose to become a mommy at the age of 31. Talking about the same, she said:

"I was 8th in the world when I decided to have a baby. It was a choice that we had been talking about, and we chose to wait for a certain amount of years before we got married. And the number of people that thought that we were unable to have kids like people were sure that we were unable to have kids. It didn't cross their mind that I was number one in the world at what I was doing. They were like 'Isko bacha ho hi ni sakta, isliye iska bacha nahi hua abhi tak'. For me, 31 was the right age to have a baby."

"It was difficult in terms of the things that were being said by the media and all. But you know when you are in love, not a lot matters. That’s the honest truth. When you are in love, you are not thinking logically. We are in love and we want to get married. And honestly, that’s how it was for our families and us also. But once it happened, we saw the fact that it was not like that for everybody and we found it very odd."
