Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got married in 2010, and it was after eight years of marital bliss that the duo welcomed their son, Izhaan, into their lives. Since the last year, reports have been rife that Sania and Shoaib might have separated. And the same got confirmed after Shoaib took a step forward in his life by tying the knot for the third time with Pakistani actress, Sana Javed. After Shoaib announced his marriage, Sania's father, Imran Mirza, revealed that Sania had taken a khula from Shoaib. On the other hand, Sania had not yet reacted to Shoaib's marriage. During her appearance in Koffee With Karan, Sania Mirza said that she was happily married to Shoaib Malik. Talking more about the same, she also revealed the key to their then-successful marriage. Sania, on the show, reportedly said that the reason for their happy and successful marriage is that they stay quite far from one another. Sania could be quoted as saying:
"I am! And we stay quite far from each other and that's the secret of our marriage."

Speaking along the same lines, Sania Mirza also revealed that her father, Imran Mirza once told her the reason for having a successful marriage with his wife. Sania shared that her father told her that he and Sania's mom had a successful marriage of 31 years because of his tennis career, for which he has to travel often. Sania said:
"We travel so much. My dad always jokes that his 31-year marriage with my mum now is because of his tennis. He says our marriage is really strong because one of us is always travelling."
It was on January 20, 2024, when Shoaib Malik took to his IG handle and dropped adorable photos as he got married to Sana Javed. In the photos, the then-newlyweds could be seen clinging to one another as they embarked upon the new journey. For the day, Shoaib opted for an ivory-hued sherwani, which had golden work at the border. He teamed a white-golden printed doshala. Sana, on the other hand, stunned in a sharara set including a front-slit long kurta and silk crushed sharara with embellished borders. With a touch of sheen makeup, bridal jewels, and tied-up hair, Sana finalised her look.
Soon after, Shoaib Malik announced his wedding to Sana Javed, Sania Mirza's father, Imran Mirza told PTI that the tennis player had taken a khula from Shoaib Malik. For the unversed, khula is a term almost similar to talaq. In Islamic tradition, khula gives the Muslim woman a right to unilaterally divorce her husband.

Recently, Pakistani journalist, Naeem Hanif revealed some unheard anecdotes about Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed. The journalist revealed that Shoaib and Sana dated for three long years before tying the knot, and during the time they started dating, both of them were married to their respective partners. Naeem also added that soon after Sania came to know about Shoaib's affair, she informed his family, and they ran to their place to convince them to settle down and sort out the issues, but neither of them wanted to continue with their wedding, so they parted ways.
