Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt has had a tumultuous life, which impacted his professional career negatively. From falling into the grasp of drug addiction at a young age to losing his mother, Nargis, Sanjay has had his share of heartaches and controversies. Not only this, but the actor also had to spend some years in jail, twice. Known for speaking out about every detail of his challenging life, Sanjay has been quite vocal about his battle with drug addiction.
On August 3, 2023, Sanjay Dutt's daughter, Trishala Dutt shared a video of her father on her IG stories. The video was from 2006 when Sanjay Dutt graced former actress, Simi Garewal's popular show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. During the conversation, Sanjay got candid about his drug issues, family relationship, and survival story. However, he even went on to narrate a scary incident where he once sniffed Heroin and went on to sleep for straight two days. Sharing the video, Trishala added a lot of stickers atop it.

In the video, Sanjay Dutt recalled an incident when he woke up in the morning one day and was feeling extremely hungry. So, he asked his servant to cook something for him, but the latter started crying in shock. When Sanjay asked him why he was crying, the servant told him that the actor had woken up after two long days. Revealing how this specific incident left his entire family scared, Sanjay said:
"One day I had taken heroin and went to sleep. I woke up after some time. My servant on seeing me, started crying and said that 'baba you've woken up after two days.' I was shocked. I went and saw myself in the mirror. My face had that drenched look, and I knew it that if I don't stop myself now I will probably die. So I went to dad and told him to save me. He sent me to a well-known hospital and soon after that I was sent to America to a rehabilitation centre."
Sanjay Dutt has always been vocal about his difficult time and revealed how he got involved with drugs to overcome the phase. Earlier, in an interview with YouTuber, Ranveer Allahbadia, Sanjay stated that he was very shy with women. Recalling that he spent ten years of his life locked inside his room or bathroom, the actor shared that when he came back from rehab, people used to call him an addict. In his words:
“I was very shy, especially with women, so I started it to look cool. You do it, and you become a cooler guy with the ladies, you talk to them. Ten years of my life I was in my room, or in the bathroom, and not interested in shoots. But this is what life is, and that’s how everything changed. When I came back from rehab, people used to call me charsi (addict). And I thought, galat hai yeh."

Despite living in different countries, Sanjay Dutt and his daughter, Trishala share a cordial bond with one another. Not only to her doting daddy, but Trishala is also close to her stepmom, Maanayata. On July 29, 2022, when Sanjay Dutt turned a year older, he got the sweetest wish from his daughter, Trishala Dutt. Taking to her IG handle, she posted two pictures to wish her 'Lion King'. Her note could be read as:
“Happy Birthday my lion king @duttsanjay @ keep shining for me keep shining for us all. I love you so very much Papa.”

Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt tied the knot with an aspiring actress, Richa Sharma in 1987, and after two years of marital bliss, the couple welcomed a daughter, Trishala, in 1989. However, Richa was diagnosed with a brain tumour, so she moved to New York for her treatment, but she died in 1996. After her mother's demise, Trishala Dutt grew up in the US with her maternal grandparents, whereas, Sanjay got married to his third wife, Maanayata Dutt.
