Be it her professional or personal life, Neena has always been very vocal. Currently, she is on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Vadh 2. Alongside Neena, the crime thriller also stars Sanjay Mishra in a key role. For the unversed, the film is all set to release on February 6, 2026. Ahead of its theatrical release, Sanjay and Neena looked unrecognisable at a BTS shoot.

On February 1, 2026, Neena Gupta took to her Instagram handle and shared a BTS moment video from the Vadh 2 style shoot. Neena and Sanjay Mishra looked unrecognisable at the style shoot. The duo surprised their fans with a sharply styled, retro and vintage-inspired look. In the clip, Sanjay looked dapper in a black t-shirt, paired with a shimmery jacket, while Neena looked stunning in a short, shimmery dress. The two completed their look by wearing dark sunglasses. The background was adorned with disco balls and draped in red, vibrant fringe curtains.

Neena Gupta expresses her joy in playing a lead role in Vadh 2

In a recent interview with IANS, Neena expressed her joy in playing a lead role in Vadh 2. She mentioned that she felt proud as the makers trusted her with a responsible role. She added that if actors of their age were offered such bigger roles rather than supporting ones, their confidence would be increased. She was quoted as saying:

"I feel very good, I feel very proud that actors of this age also get a lead role to play, to play a responsible role. They can now not just support, but have a chance to carry a film on their shoulders. I feel very good about it. I feel that if films like this continue to be made, then the other actors, their manoeuvrability will also increase, that if they can do it, we can also do it. So, it's a moment of big pride for me."

What to expect in the film, Vadh 2?

Vadh 2 is the second instalment of the Vadh franchise. But Vadh 2 offers a fresh story and doesn’t continue with the original plot. The story of Vadh 2 revolves around a retired prison guard (played by Sanjay Mishra) and a woman inmate (played by Neena Gupta), whose lives get intertwined when they encounter a cruel person. They face several hurdles as they move forward to seek justice. Speaking about the film, director, Jaspal Singh Sandhu told IANS:

"Vadh 2 is conceived to deliver an experience of a rich narrative driven by well-defined characters. We've pushed the envelope, taking the storytelling a notch higher to give the audience a layered thriller-mystery. The trailer offers a glimpse into this morally complex world of Vadh 2, where truth is not clearly defined."

Vadh 2 is produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg and is helmed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu. In the same interview, producer Luv Ranjan shared that the upcoming film, Vadh 2, would take forward the emotional depth of the 2022 film, Vadh, with a new story. He was quoted as saying: 

"Vadh 2 takes forward the philosophy and emotional depth of the first film with a completely new story. What makes it special is that the franchise is led by remarkable senior actors- Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, and joining them is Kumud Mishra, and together their powerful screen presence reinforces our belief that strong stories transcend age and convention."
