To this, Aamir talked about people tagging Ankita as a 'mystery girl' for some time. He further added that what was even more hilarious to them was the way people had clicked the photos of them as a couple, and the way they had gone viral. He further shared that it's people's work to speculate. In Aamir Ali's words:

"She was the mystery girl for some time, and that was fun. And the best was the way they had shot us together, and then it went viral. Logon ka kaam hai, they can and will always speculate."

In the same interview, Aamir Ali revealed whether he and Ankita Kukreti are actually dating. Talking about the same, Aamir shared that he wouldn't deny it and Ankita is close to him and, in fact, the closest person in his life right now. He also heaped praises on Ankita and shared that she is a pretty girl and is currently starting her career in the industry. Aamir revealed that he's not against love for the hurdles that came along his way, and he won't step back from falling in love again. Aamir Ali could be quoted as saying:

"Abhi I am not denying anything, but she is very close to me. In fact, she is currently the closest person to me. She’s a pretty girl and is starting her career in the industry. We are very close to each other, and that’s about it."

Talking to BT, Aamir Ali revealed that it felt great for him to get to know someone after all these years. The actor shared his initial struggles to commit to a relationship after his divorce from Sanjeeda. He said that one needs to move on completely before jumping onto anything, and thus, before that, when he was meeting a lot of people, he would run before anything could even happen, as he thought he was incapable of love. He further accepted having likings for Ankita.
