Celebrity chef, Sanjeev Kapoor needs no introduction. For the unversed, back in the early 1990s, he became one of the first Indian chefs to feature in his own television show, Khana Khazana. Since then, Sanjeev has come a long way and is currently regarded as one of the most popular chefs in India. Apart from his cooking shows and events, he also owns a chain of restaurants, including The Yellow Chilli, Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor, Khazana, Sura Vie, and Gold Leaf Banquets among others.
Sanjeev Kapoor tied the marital knot with Alyona Kapoor in October 1992. The couple is blessed with two beautiful daughters, Rachita Kapoor and Kriti Kapoor. Now, in a recent interview, Sanjeev opened up about his love story with his wife, Alyona Kapoor, which is every bit filmy. The couple, who have been married for almost 25 years, embarked on their love story on a train journey.

Sanjeev Kapoor and his wife, Alyona Kapoor sat for a conversation with Amrita Rao and RJ Anmol on the YouTube channel, Couple of Things. Talking about the start of their love story, the couple shared that they knew each other through Alyona’s sister, Vandana, who was also a chef like Sanjeev. Once, Alyona and Sanjeev were travelling on the same train and were sitting on opposite sides of the aisle. Due to the full air conditioning, Alyona’s hands started getting very cold, so Sanjeev offered her to hold his warm hands. Sanjeev recalled:
“Her hands were getting cold, my hands were warm so I just offered her my hand and she held it.”
As it was a long journey, the duo got to spend a lot of time together. Further, in the conversation, the celebrity chef mentioned that he would have offered Alyona a sweater if he had one. To this, Alyona recalled that Sanjeev would leave her hand anytime anyone had to pass through the way and would hold it again. In her words:
“It was a long train journey. We were both sitting on the aisle so anytime anyone had to pass through, our hands would separate but then we would hold hands again.”

When Sanjeev and Alyona reached Benaras, being a gentleman, he offered to show her around. Some days later, Sanjeev had to leave for Patna, so he asked Alyona to come with him, and she agreed. After coming back to Delhi, the couple continued to see each other and often went out for drives. Alyona recalled the moment when Sanjeev said 'I love you' to her. In her words:
“Once when he dropped me, I said I think I’m falling in love with you. He said I don’t think, I know I’m in love with you.”
Sanjeev Kapoor is also a popular content creator on social media, who often posts mouth-watering food videos.
