Saif Ali Khan was brutally stabbed at his Satguru Sharan residence in Bandra on January 16, 2025. The attack was made by Bangladeshi national, Mohammed Shariful Islam, who is lately lodged at the Arthur Road Central Jail. Now, Sara Ali Khan, Saif's daughter from his first marriage to Amrita, revealed how she and her family coped with the horrific incident. For the unversed, the nawab was stabbed six times and sustained two deep wounds, one of which was very near to the spine.
Saif had reportedly walked in like a lion at Mumbai's Lillavati hospital. His wife, Kareena, kids, Ibrahim, Sara, mother, Sharmila, sister, Soha, Saba and more members from the Khan family were by his side. The actor had a successful surgery and then was released and advised to rest at his home. Sara recently, in an interview with NDTV Yuva, shared how the horrific incident had turned their life overnight. In her words:
"It's about making you realise how transient the things that you chase are. It didn't make me realise I love my father, I have known that for 29 years. It made me realise life can change overnight. So every second of every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise the importance of just being grateful."
After this incident, the Kedarnath actress also realised that she understood what truly mattered. The entire family only felt gratitude because it could have gone so wrong. She has been so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder of almost everyone's life. She said everyone talks about practising mental health. Being grateful for your life is so important. And moments like that make you realise it.
Sara revealed that she and her family were grateful that the tough times of the cloud did not last long. She noted that it took COVID to realise the importance of being at home with your family, or it took somebody being almost attacked for you to be like, 'okay, life matters.' Life does matter. The small joys do matter. She shared that one should celebrate every day that you are alive. That is what life is about. She also noted:
"It takes COVID to realise the importance of being at home with your family, or it takes somebody being almost attacked for you to be like, 'okay, life matters.' Life does matter. The small joys do matter. Celebrate everyday that you are alive. That is what life is about."
When the burglary attack broke out at Saif's home during the wee hours of January 16, 2025, the actor suffered grave injuries near his neck and spine. He was bleeding profusely, his kurta being drenched in blood, when he was taken to Lilavati hospital, where the actor had to undergo many surgeries. Five days after the incident, Saif was released from the hospital, and various theories related to his quick recovery were spoken about. The actor then put up a brave front and made his first appearance as he promoted his next upcoming Netflix movie, Jewel Thief.
