Sarabhai vs Sarabhai star, Satish Shah’s sudden death at the age of 74 has left the whole entertainment industry mourning. He is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah. He left for the heavenly abode on October 25, 2025, after fighting a long battle with kidney issues. The disheartening news was confirmed by filmmaker, Ashoke Pandit. Satish was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital as he suddenly fell ill at his home. Now, an old heartfelt confession of the veteran actor has gone viral.
In a 2023 interview with CNN-News18, the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor shared that his appearance, rather than helping his acting career, actually made it harder for him to find roles. Satish mentioned that after he graduated from FTII, filmmakers often cast actors based on strict physical types that made them look like heroes, villains, or comedians. However, the veteran was unfit for any such roles. He was quoted as saying:
"When I came from FTII, there were certain things actors were categorised into, and I didn’t fit in any of these. I was too tall and well-built to be a comedian, had too soft a face to be a villain, and wasn’t conventionally good-looking as a hero. So my struggle was the worst. People mistook me for everything else but an actor."

Satish further added that people in the industry often mistook him for someone who worked behind the camera. The veteran actor highlighted that although the audience later loved his persona, his looks back then were a major drawback for him as an actor. In his words:
"They mistook me for a cinematographer, an editor, or a director whenever I went to meet people. So this worked against me. Now, when people ask me how my persona helped me—it didn’t. My persona was my drawback then."

Satish Shah’s untimely demise at the age of 74 is both shocking and heartbreaking. He reportedly passed away due to kidney failure. On October 25, 2025, filmmaker, Ashoke Pandit took to his Instagram handle and shared the disheartening news about Satish's death. Confirming the news through a video, Ashoke said:
"I would like to share a sad news with you. Our friend, a great actor, Satish Shah has passed away due to kidney failure, a while ago, he suddenly fell ill at home.
