The Indian entertainment industry is mourning the unexpected death of the legendary actor, Satish Shah, who was known for his amazing comic timing and powerful screen presence. The Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame, took his last breath on October 25, 2025, at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. Reportedly, the veteran actor died due to kidney failure. 

Even though, everyone knows about Satish Shah and his impressive career, not many know about his wife, Madhu Shah. Behind the man who could make millions of people laugh was his wife, who stayed away from media attention, but was Satish's biggest support system. Read on to know more about Madhu Shah. 

Who is Madhu Shah?

Madhu Shah is the wife of the late veteran actor, Satish Shah, who was known for his role in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Na, Fanaa and more. According to a report by DNA, Madhu is primarily a designer, but she was also involved in the entertainment industry as an actress and producer. She has appeared in films like Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge! and Hum Tere Ashiq Hain. Reportedly, Madhu and Satish tied the knot in 1972. Despite being a former actress, Madhu managed to keep her personal life away from media attention.

Satish Shah and Madhu first met during the SIPTA Film Festival and the Kal Ho Na Ho actor instantly fell in love with Madhu. The same moment, he gathered some courage and proposed to Madhu, but she turned it down. However, the actor didn't lose hope. During the shoot of the film, Saath Saath at SNDT College, Juhu, the duo met again, as Madhu was a student there. He proposed to her for the second time during the shoot, but was rejected once again. Later, he tried again and this time, Madhu agreed but asked him to talk to her parents.

Convincing parents was not an easy deal at that time, because the duo fell in love with each other when arranged marriage dominated societal norms. At the same time, a career in television was also not highly appreciated. Nevertheless, Satish spoke to Madhu's parents and managed to convince them. Within a month of the approval, the couple got engaged to each other. In 1972, after eight months of their engagement, Satish and Madhu tied the knot.

Over the years, Satish has often called Madhu his 'lucky charm'. He has credited her for grounding him through the ups and downs of life. Satish's harmless pranks kept the spark and fun alive in their relationship. While there is no confirmation on their kids, several media outlets have mentioned that the couple did not have any children.

On October 25, 2025, Satish Shah tragically passed away at around 2:30 pm at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital due to kidney failure. Reportedly, he was battling kidney issues for a long time and had even undergone a transplant. However, he took his last breath at the age of 74. Filmmaker and one of Satish's close friends, Ashoke Pandit took to his Instagram handle to share the heartbreaking news of the actor's death. He had shared:

"Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti."
