'Chala Gaya', Satish Shah's Wife, Madhu's Words As She Loses Her Memory, Reveals Anupam Kher

Satish Shah's sudden death not only left his family but also his friends in deep shock. His on-screen co-star, Ratna Pathak, was baffled as she had talked to Satish Shah just two hours before his passing. But more than anyone, it is his wife, Madhu, who has been affected. Recently, Anupam Kher met Madhu at Satish Shah's home, but it seemed that she didn't remember him. It is just the songs that make her face shine.

Recently, Anupam Kher, who was in Switzerland, went to meet Satish Shah's wife, Madhu, to share his condolences. In a video, Anupam Kher revealed his wife, Madhu's condition after the death of Satish Shah. He recalled a heartbreaking conversation with Madhu, who first recognised him and welcomed him, but then lost her memory. However, her memory came back as she mourned her husband's death by saying, 'Chala gaya'. In the video, Anupam Kher said:

"Madhu, first recognised me, and said, 'Are, thank you for coming', and then she lost her memory. I asked her, 'How are you?' because I didn't want to talk about that topic... She said, 'Yes, Kirron (Anupam Kher's wife) would come and meet me. Then, for a flicker of a second, she said, 'Chala gaya'. The moment she said 'chala gaya', she had tears in her eyes, and then again she lost her memory."

Sharing the video, Anupam Kher mentioned in Hindi that he did his best to hold back his tears. However, he couldn't hold them back after watching Madhu struggle with her memory. He revealed that the one hour he spent at Satish's house was filled with sandess, but he promised Madhu that he would keep meeting her. In a video going viral, the two were seen singing a song, and Madhu was clearly seen struggling with her memory and unbearable pain. He wrote:

"I was trying my best to hold back my tears! I couldn't figure out if the tears in my eyes were more for Satish's passing or also for Madhu's memory fading away! That one hour I spent at Satish's house was filled with so much sadness! But I made a promise to Madhu that I would keep coming to meet her regularly!"

Recently, Satish Shah's friend and on-screen wife, Ratna Pathak Shah, penned an obituary for him in The Indian Express. Ratna recalled her conversation with Satish Shah's wife, Madhu, at his funeral and revealed the heartbreaking thing she said to her. Ratna revealed that Satish's friends and family gathered at his funeral, as his face was still first time in years. However, when they turned to Madhu, who had been with him for 45 years, she was in total disbelief. Ratna revealed Madhu's question to her during Satish's funeral. She wrote:

"Is this really happening? she asked me, her eyes stunned, her hands stiff. As he was led away, we gathered around her and tried to make sense of the events."

Ratna further added that Satish wanted to live for his wife and to take care of her through her troubled times. He would lovingly sing for Madhu, and she wondered who would sing to her and with her after Satish's passing. Ratna Pathak also revealed how Madhu joined the actors who were celebrating Satish Shah during his prayer meet by singing their show's song.

For those who don't know, Satish Shah passed away on October 25, 2025, after a cardiac arrest.
