Satish Shah's Devastated Wife, Madhu Sings His Favourite Song With Sonu Nigam At Actor's Prayer Meet

Satish Shah, a much-loved actor, bid farewell to the world at the age of 74 on October 25, 2025. The actor passed away due to kidney failure, even after he underwent a kidney transplant to be fine and take care of his wife, Madhu, who has been suffering from Alzheimer's disease. On October 27, 2025, Satish's friends and family hosted a prayer meet to celebrate his life. And now, several videos from the prayer meet have been circulating on social media, and his wife, Madhu, looks devastated.

Satish Shah's demise has left everyone in the industry with a heavy heart. However, during his prayer meet, his friends, including Sonu Nigam paid tribute to him by singing his favourite songs. In one of the glimpses from the funeral, shared by the producer of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, JD Majethia, Madhu was seen humming the actor's favourite song, Tere Mere Sapne from the movie Guide.

Madhu was spotted joining her late husband's prayer meet with her close friends, and it was Rupali Ganguly, who requested the paps not to click photos of Madhu, who is surely in an unstable condition, following the sudden demise of the late actor. Sharing the glimpse from the funeral, Satish Shah's friend and producer, JD Majethia, penned:

"Celebrating life of #satishshah was the intention to give him the befitting tribute from Family & friends. His favourite songs chosen over usual bhajans keeping his preference in mind were sung. This song was also to convey what Madhu bhabi ‘s last words of the songs are, WATCH IT TILL THE END to know what we all wish to promise #satish shah. Hum sang hai… (sic)."

Satish Shah and Madhu's love story

Satish Shah and Madhu's love story is straight out of a fairytale. Satish met Madhu at the SIPTA Film Festival, and he instantly fell in love with her. When Satish proposed to Madhu, she rejected the proposal. Following this, Satish got a role in the movie Saath Saath, which was shot at the SNDT College in Juhu, where Madhu was studying.

Well, she again rejected his proposal, but Satish didn't give up; he proposed to her a third time, and she didn't reject it but asked him to talk to her parents. Back then, love marriage was not that much accepted, so the journey wasn't easy for the couple. Satish approached Madhu's parents, and after several months, in 1972, the couple got engaged. Eventually, Madhu and Satish got married, and he often tagged her as his 'lucky charm'. Talking about Madhu, she remained away from the public limelight and worked as a fashion designer. The couple had been married for 50 years, and didn't have any kids, as they decided to dedicate their lives to each other.

In an interview with News 18 Showsha, Sachin Pilgaonkar shared that Satish Shah underwent a kidney transplant earlier this year, in 2025. He said that the actor wanted to take care of his wife, Madhu, who has been suffering from Alzheimer’s. He also said the couple used to be very warm and lovable, recalling the moments when they attended movie premieres. Sachin also shared that now that Satish has passed away, the celebrations will be incomplete without him.
