Recently, the Today co-host posted a religious note and prayed for her mother’s safe return. According to reports, Savannah sat for the first interview since her mom’s disappearance. Recalling the moment, Savannah broke down in tears and blamed herself for Nancy’s disappearance.

In response, the Today co-host shared that her brother, a former fighter pilot in the military who also worked in intelligence, was the first to believe that Nancy was kidnapped for ransom. Soon, devastated Savannah feared whether it was because of her and her fame. She also asked her brother, and he told her that it might be so. Blaming herself for Nancy’s kidnapping, Savannah said:

"I said, 'Do you think because of me?' And he said, 'I’m sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe.' It's too much to bear to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it's because of me. If it is me, I'm so sorry."

In the same interview, Savannah shared her first reaction after her sister, Annie, informed her about their mom, Nancy’s disappearance. She mentioned that when she got to know the following, she was in disbelief. Initially, they thought Nancy had gotten sick and had visited the hospital for the medicines. However, when they found blood on the front doorstep and the ring camera had been ripped off, they thought that something was fishy. She was quoted as saying:

"My sister called me and I said, 'Is everything okay?’ And she said, 'No, Mom’s missing.' I said, 'What? What are you talking about?' She said, 'She’s gone.' From the very early moments Annie and Tommy were saying, ‘This isn’t that case that you are used to where someone wanders off. She can’t wander off'. My mom, she was in tremendous pain. And the doors were propped open and there was blood on the front doorstep and the Ring camera had been ripped off, and so we were saying, 'This is not okay. Something is very wrong here.'"

The Guthrie family mentioned that they couldn’t be at peace until Nancy returned home safely. They highlighted that their sole focus is on finding Nancy. The Guthrie family added that they wanted to celebrate Nancy’s courageous life, but couldn’t do that until she returned. An excerpt of the statement can be read as:

"We miss our mom with every breath, and we cannot be at peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life, but we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest."
