Hoda Kotb Returns Back On 'Today' Show, Speaks On Friend Savannah Guthrie's Missing Mom, Nancy

Savannah Guthrie is the host of the Today Show, and her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing since January 31, 2026. Nancy has been missing for more than six days after she failed to show up for her Sunday Church service in Tucson, Arizona. No suspects have been arrested yet, and in the meantime, Savannah's friend, Hoda Kotb, has returned to the Today Show. She joined on February 6, 2026, and on her live show, she became emotional and spoke about Savannah's mom, Nancy.

Savannah Guthrie's friend, Hoda Kotb, joined Carson Daly, Sheinelle Jones, and Craig Melvin and was seen showing support to Savannah. Hoda had an emotional appearance as she rejoined the Today Show, which she left in January 2025. Hoda worked with her friend, Savannah, for seven years, and on her show, spoke about how everyone has been praying for the safe return of Savannah's mom, Nancy. Hoda, on her show, spoke about how there has been a massive show of support from individuals, people are posting positive thoughts online, and there is just a lot of hope. Hoda, in her emotional speech, wrote:

"Everyone's praying for Nancy's safe return. The nation is rallying around our dearest friend, Savannah, and her family, believing that their beloved mom, Nancy, will be back soon in the loving arms. This morning, the love for Savannah and her family brings some light in the agonising search for mother Nancy. As Americans heed Savannah's call to 'Please Pray', Nancy's community and her two sons have been keeping their faith and joining the search. Well, the video played by Savannah and her siblings has touched millions."

Live broadcast channel, TODAY mentioned Hoda joining them and also spoke about the outpouring of love and support for Savannah Guthrie and her family during the agonising search for their mother, Nancy. In their note, they also mentioned that anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie can contact 1-800-CALL-FBI. Hoda, earlier in an interview with PEOPLE, mentioned feeling helpless and revealed that she is close to Savannah and wants to help her. A user seeing the heartfelt plea made by Hooda on Savannah's mom commented, "Woke up at 4 am and Nancy and Savannah were my first thought. Praying often that Nancy is found soon. Deep prayers for Nancy's safe return. It's been heartbreaking. Sending love and prayers to Nancy and Savannah's family." Fans also praised Hoda for supporting Savannah and wrote:

"There’s one voice that is bringing us motherly solace right now and it’s Hoda. I wish we weren’t welcoming her back under these circumstances but thank you for being even a mini point of healing for all of us in the extended Today Show world. Hoda Kotb remembers how Savannah Guthrie was for her when her daughter fell sick

Hoda Kotb, according to a report by PEOPLE, reflected on her friend, Savannah's, past kindness and shared that when her daughter, Hope, was sick, Savannah was the first one to reach the hospital. Hoda remembered when the times were rough and tough, and  Savannah was the one who showed her support. Hoda seems to have returned the favour to her friend and had said:

"I was thinking, who was first at the hospital when Hope was sick? Savannah. The nation is rallying around our dear Savannah, believing her beloved mom will be home soon, safe in their loving arms. I picture Savannah sitting there."
