Savannah Reveals Her Brother-In-Law, Tommaso Cioni Called Local Hospitals After Nancy Went Missing

Well, it has now been nearly two months since Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, was abducted from her Tucson home in Arizona. Well, the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI have not had any major breakthroughs in locating Nancy since she went missing on February 1, 2026. Now,  Savannah Guthrie revealed that it was her brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, who had first dialled local hospitals after Nancy went missing.

Savannah Guthrie gave her first interview since her mom, Nancy Guthrie, went missing and revealed to the host, Hoda Kotb, that it was her sister, Annie and her brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, who had first dialled local hospitals. Savannah mentioned that after Annie and Tommaso started calling hospitals, she too joined the same. The situation was one of utter disbelief and chaos.

Tommaso Cioni was a major suspect in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case

A Parade report stated that, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Tommaso Cioni was the last person to see Nancy before she disappeared. This was between the overnight hours on January 31, 2026, and February 1, 2026. The authorities had confirmed that Nancy had gone for dinner with Annie and Tommaso and she was then dropped off at her house at 9.30 p.m. on Janauary 31, 2026. Tommaso Cioni had made sure that Nancy was safely inside the home before he left. Authorities revealed that they assume Nancy may have been kidnapped later at night from her house. A statement from the authorities, as reported by TMZ, said that no suspects had been found yet. The statement read:

"We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results. We are not confirming the car being seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information."

In the interview, Savannah Guthrie revealed that she and her husband, Michael Feldman, were not in town and had gone on a tennis trip. Savannah revealed that they felt their mom was kidnapped. This is because initially they thought that due to a medical emergency, Nancy may have been taken on a stretcher, but then her phone was left behind with her purse. These things did not make sense. Savannah had taken her kids to Carson Daily's home, and by the time she returned home, she got a call saying:

"My sister called me, and I said, ‘Is everything OK?’ and she said, ‘No.’ She said, ‘Mom’s missing,’ and I said, ‘What? What are you talking about?’ She said, ‘She’s gone."

Is Nancy Guthrie's son-In-law, Tommaso Cioni, a teacher?

A report by the Parade revealed that Tommaso's LinkedIn account showed he had been working in Tucson as a teacher for more than a decade. The report also revealed that Tommaso teaches sixth-grade science and biology at the Basis Oro Valley School in Tucson. Tommaso had once revealed his parents were his role models and said:

“My dad taught me the love for nature. I still go and forage for mushrooms with him when I go back to Italy. My mom taught me the love for cooking and to cherish food. These two passions still define who I am today."

When asked what he liked about teaching, Tommaso revealed that he is able to share his passion for learning with his students. Tommaso shared that since he teaches classes in 6th grade and AP Biology, he loves seeing them grow from pre-teens to young adults and seeing them express their potential.
