The cast of Everybody Loves Raymond recently had a reunion on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the show. The sitcom used to air on CBS back from 1996 to 2005 and showcased the life of 'Ray Barone' played by Ray Romano and his family. It included his wife, 'Debra' played by Patricia Heaton and their children- real life siblings, late, Sawyer Sweeten and Madylin Sweeten. For the unversed, at the age of 19 on April 23, 2015, Sawyer took his life at his family home in Texas.
The surviving cast of Everybody Loves Raymond went down memory lane, and Ray Romano shared that as Sawyer passed away, the show would never ever do a reboot without him, Doris Roberts, and Peter Boyle, who are no more. Sawyer's family was devastated beyond repair when he took his own life, but what made him do the same? The young lad in Everybody Loves Raymond played the role of 'Geoffrey Barone' with his twin brother. Both of them started off at the tender age of 16 months. The famous sitcom showcased the life of a family living on Long Island.

According to a report by Time.com, Sawyer Sweeten was known to be a gentle and soft-spoken star whose suicide had left the TV community fully heartbroken. Ahead of his 20th birthday, Sawyer took his life, leaving his fans and ex-cast members fully broken. His family was looking for a closure related to why Sawyer took his life because the loss was unbearable and confusing to understand. According to varied reports on the social media, one cause related to the demise of Sawyer Sweeten could not be identified officially.

Sawyer Sweeten was born in 1995 with his twin brother, Sullivan. He had spent his childhood in front of the audience. This is because, from the age of 16 months to 9, he was seen in 139 episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond. Back then, this was one of the most well-known and successful sitcoms. Sawyer had grown up on the sets of a TV show, and the experience was unusual. There are schedules, different cast and crew members who treat you differently, and Sawyer saw fame coming on a platter even before he could understand the meaning of the same.

When Everybody Loves Raymond ended in 2005, Sawyer and Madylin, his older sister, had left acting to focus on their normal childhood. Their parents tried their best to keep them grounded, but the focus in Sawyer's life, from a TV show to a regular life, seemed to be overwhelming. He was used to security, always surrounded by a cast and crew; the quiet life reportedly seemed different to him. There have been many child stars who have faced issues related to an identity crisis and felt unsure of who they really were outside the character they played for years.

Sawyer Sweeten's mother, Elizabeth Gini, in an interview with Larry King, shared that she always had a fear of losing any one of her sons to overtime anxiety. She revealed that Sawyer had told her that his friends in Texas did not like him, and in the final week of his life, they saw his behaviour change drastically. In her words:
"We saw something happen... it was so rapid in progression that we were caught off guard."

Sawyer's mother had shared that her late son showed signs of emotional distress but claimed he did not have textbook depression. He had faced bouts of anxiety, withdrawal moments, but was not into drugs and alcohol. Sawyer's childhood, which was shaped by fame, suddenly saw normalcy, and his mom had called him sensitive, introspective, and also a kid who used to get overwhelmed. She had not at all imagined Sawyer to be in some kind of immediate crisis.
Sawyer Sweeten's cause of demise does not have a single definitive cause, but reportedly, emotional struggles, pressures, and the transition may have amped to the tragedy. Weeks before his demise, Sawyer was feeling uncertain of his future and was navigating between adolescence and adult life. The emotional challenges may have amplified and during his late teenage years, his thoughts may have been left unspoken.

It is important to note that Sawyer Sweeten had not left any suicide note, and his family always emphasised that he did not have any triggers, conflicting situations, or any form of breakup. Online murmurs related to these causes were slammed by the family, and they shared that he was having a complex emotional struggle. After Sawyer's demise, his mom had called him a shy and quiet soul.
