Recently, Scarlett Johansson sat for an interview with Entertainment Weekly, during which she discussed the incident of her kissing Jonathan Bailey. She revealed that the actors have extraordinary experiences that are in extreme conditions. The actress said that all the actors have to live together for several months, and thus, they develop a genuine affection for one another. Scarlett Johansson said:

"I think actors are just...We have such extraordinary experiences that are in extreme conditions. We live as a family for months, you know, so it really feels [like] we have a lot of love for one another."

In the same interview, Scarlett Johansson shared her husband's reaction to the entire incident, stating that they didn't discuss it much, but accepted the fact that it was on everybody else's mind. Jost, on the other hand, said in another interview that it's not even a threat, given the fact that Jonathan is openly gay, and that it was just a friendly gesture between Scarlett Johansson and his co-star. He revealed that people had really blown the incident out of proportion, which was crazy to him. Jost said:

"Jonathan is an out gay man—it didn’t seem like the biggest threat. People really blow it out of proportion if someone kisses their friend hello, it's really nuts."

In an interview with PEOPLE, Jonathan Bailey talked about Scarlett Johansson kissing him on the red carpet. He revealed that he believes in showing friends love in different ways, and if someone can't kiss their friend, then he thinks life is too short for that person. Jonathan Bailey could be quoted as saying:

"I believe in being able to show the love in all different ways and if you can't kiss your friends... life is too short not to."
