'Will Put My And Baby's Life In Jeopardy..' Selena Grieved About Her Inability To Carry Her Own Baby

Selena Gomez is an American actress, singer, producer, and businesswoman, who started her career as a child artist. While her professional life is open out there in the media, her personal life has made waves around as well. But it all stopped as she got engaged to the love of her life and best friend, Benny Blanco. 

Selena Gomez shared she could never carry her own children and how it affected her when she got to know about the same

Just like she manifested getting a marquise engagement ring in her 2015 song, Good For You, her beau, Benny proposed to her with the same ring last year, to which she said 'yes'. The couple is currently planning their wedding. Well, it's the next step of the wedding, parenthood, that once made Selena grieve, as she once revealed not being able to carry her own baby.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez talked about her wish to start a family with her beau, Benny Blanco. She shared that although, she wishes for it, it won't actually be the way she envisioned it. Sharing why she said this, Selena added that she would never be able to carry her own baby. Revealing the reason behind the same, the singer added that she has a lot of health issues that might put her and her baby's life in jeopardy. Stating how she had to grieve for a while about the same, Selena mentioned:

"I haven’t ever said this. But I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.” 

Selena Gomez shared that surrogacy and adoption are huge possibilities for her

Selena Gomez has been open about her struggles with Lupus since the time she revealed the same to Billboard in 2015. Well, talking about her inability to carry her own children, Selena said that she thought it would be the same for her, just like everybody. She remarked that she's in a far better place in this aspect now, and she feels grateful how, in today's time, people are open to surrogacy and adoption, which are huge possibilities for her.

Selena further remarked that she is excited to witness how the journey would look, although it would look a bit different, it doesn't matter as it would be her baby. In Selena's words:

"I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.” 

Selena Gomez reacted to her fiance, Benny stating that having kids would be his next 'big goal'

In the same interview, Selena was asked about her reaction to her beau, Benny's wish to have kids and his statement that it would be his next big goal. Selena said that Benny couldn't lie, and she was laughing after Benny made that statement. She also remarked that she has never been loved in the way her beau loves her, and he has been a complete light to her life. Sharing that he is her BFF, and she loves telling him everything, Selena mentioned:

"I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
