The incident reportedly affected the groom-to-be, Palash, so much that he, too, fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. Amid that, various theories, including Palash's cheating allegations, surfaced. As chaos wrecks Smriti and Palash's wedding, his mother reveals whether the festivities have been cancelled altogether.

Palash Muchhal's mother revealed whether her son's wedding with Smriti Mandhana is still on

Palash Muchhal's mother, Amita Muchhal, shared with Hindustan Times that her son was under a lot of stress upon hearing about his future father-in-law, Shrinivas Mandhana's condition, which caused his own health to deteriorate. Palash cried continuously for hours, leading to a sudden health trouble. He was admitted to a hospital in Sangli for about four hours, where he received an IV drip and underwent an ECG and other tests. All medical reports came back normal, confirming that his condition was stress-induced. She said:

"Since haldi was done, we didn't let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat karab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna padha. IV drip chadi, ECG hua aur dosre tests hoye. Sab normal aaye but stress bahut hai."

Besides providing son's health update, Palash Muchhal's mother also answered the question that has been on everybody's mind– whether Smriti and Palash's wedding has been cancelled. Breaking her silence on the fate of the postponed wedding, Amita Muchhal said that both Smriti and Palash were utterly distressed by the chain of unexpected events that halted their wedding. Palash's mother recalled the music producer's dream of bringing his bride home soon, and Amita shared her special plan to welcome Smriti. Despite the health emergencies of Smriti's father and Palash, a hopeful Amita said everything will go back to how it was supposed to be, and Palash and Smriti's marriage will take place soon after.

"Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome...Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi."

Palash Muchhal's enduring bond with his future father-in-law

Palash Muchhal's mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that her son shares a strong bond with his future father-in-law, Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana. She stated that Palash and Shrinivas are even closer to each other than Palash is to Smriti. According to Amita Muchhal, this deep attachment was evident when Shrinivas Mandhana fell ill on the morning the wedding was scheduled to take place. Palash decided to postpone the wedding before Smriti, stating he would not proceed with the rituals until Shrinivas recovered. Palash, who also fell ill after Shrinivas, is currently recovering well, just like his future father-in-law. Amita stated:

"Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai… Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain. Jab unko hogaya toh Smriti se phele Palash ne decision liya ke usko abhi phere nahi karne jab tak uncle thik nahi ho jaate."

Smriti Mandhana had removed her pictures with Palash from her Instagram account and even untagged herself from the proposal video before Amita Muchhal's statement. It hinted at internal trouble between the two families. Regarding Palash's cheating rumours, he was alleged to be involved with a woman named Mary D'Costa. These rumors circulated online after his wedding to Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana was postponed.

Screenshots of alleged flirty chats between Palash Muchhal and Mary D'Costa were posted to social media. The original Reddit post has since been removed, and the authenticity of the screenshots remains unconfirmed. Mary D'Costa is reportedly a choreographer who, according to some online claims, was involved in the couple's pre-wedding functions. She has kept her social media profile private following the controversy.
