Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar are the most inspiring couples of the '90s. The couple had fallen in love with each other while Javed Akhtar was married to Honey Irani and had two kids, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. But as they say, if you are in love, there is no right and wrong. So the couple surpassed all the hate directed towards their relationship and had married each other on December 9, 1984.
Over the years, Shabana Azmi has created a loving bond with Javed's first family Honey Irani and her kids. We have often seen them going out on dinners together and showering love on each other. However, in a media interaction, Shabana had revealed that Honey Irani had supported her by not poisoning the minds of her kids, Farhan and Zoya, towards her.

On January 17, 2022, Shabana Azmi took to her Instagram handle and posted a rare family picture to wish Javed Akhtar on his 77th birthday. In the photo, we can see Shabna posing with Javed Akhtar and his ex-wife, Honey Irani, was also in the frame. Alongside it, Shabana wrote:
"Happy birthday Jadu."
Earlier, in a chat session with Twinkle Khanna on YouTube, Shabana Azmi had revealed that her parents were not favouring her relationship with an already married man, Javed Akhtar. Shabana had explained the situation at that time, and her parents didn't approve of it. She had said:
"He was a married man, he had children, it was really tough. And that's why I feel that people shouldn't speculate. It's difficult enough for the people involved and then just for gossip's sake. And obviously, people are going to say, 'You call yourself a feminist and then how have you got yourself in this situation."

Shabana had further revealed that she gives Javed Akhtar's first wife, Honey Irani, a lot of credit for not poisoning her kids' minds. She had shared:
"Now of this, the real good thing that happened, and I give Honey a lot of credit for it, because through it all, she never poisoned the children's minds against me."
