Back in November 2023, Veer Zara clocked 18 years of its release, and to mark the special remembrance, Preity Zinta had penned a most beautiful note of gratitude towards the film through a social media post. She shared a clip from the movie, and expressed how such a film like Veer Zaara makes people reinstall faith in old-world love and romance. Talking more about her heartfelt feelings, Preity narrated:
“There have been movies and there will be movies but nothing compares to Veer Zaara. Nothing compares to the magic of Yash Chopra films, his love for romance & the purity of his characters. Here's to believing in good old-fashioned love & to loving someone with such pure intent that no boundary, no religion & no border can keep that love apart. Thank you Adi Chopra for creating the world of Veer Zaara & to all the cast n crew members that made this film so special. #VeerZaara #YashChopra #Lovelegend #18YearsOfVeerZaara."

Previously, in an interaction with a leading daily, Shah Rukh Khan opened up about whether he felt any different while working in films like Veer Zaara and Swades, which have a strong patriotic pull. To this, the charismatic actor candidly remarked how all such types of thinking are made up the media mostly. Moreover, he exerted how both these films showcased completely different plotlines and performances, such that it would be wrong to compare them on the same strata. In his words:
“I think the difference is in the media's head. I think I'm different in each of my films. To me it seems anyone who says I'm different in Veer-Zara or Swades is only recognizing what I've done in all my films. Those who don't understand cinema or acting would see the difference only when it's in-your-face, as it is in Veer-Zara, where the guy is hundred percent different. The nuances of acting are completely apparent only to the actor. It's very difficult for the outsider to cotton on fully to what an actor does on screen, good or bad.”
