It’s fair to say that the year 2023 belongs to Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, who has given two record-breaking films, Pathaan and Jawan. However, the actor isn’t done yet, as his third film of the year, Dunki, is still going to hit the theatres in the latter months of 2023. While Shah Rukh Khan is eyeing to make it a hattrick of blockbusters, South Indian actor, Prabhas will try to put the nightmares of Adipurush behind with the success of Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire.
Both films are backed by critically acclaimed directors, while Rajkumar Hirani helmed Dunki, Salaar is directed by Prashanth Neel. It was back in September 2023 when famous film critic, Taran Adarsh confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas are all set to lock horns at the box office with their films, Dunki and Salaar. However, on October 11, 2023, a tweet from famous film industry tracker, Manobala Vijayabalam revealed that there are still chances that the clash wouldn’t happen.

As per Manobala Vijayabalam, there is a buzz that Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are planning to postpone the release of their film, Dunki. As a result, Prabhas will probably be all set for a solo release at the box office around Christmas that would indeed increase its chances of being a blockbuster. However, as of now, there’s no official confirmation, but Prabhas’ massive fanbase has taken over the internet and is joyous about the early reports. On the flip side, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are quite convinced that this is just a buzz and their superstar would release Dunki around Christmas.
Not everyone is aware of the fact that the clash is reportedly between the production company behind Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire, Hombale Films and Shah Rukh Khan. For the unversed, back in 2018, Shah Rukh’s Zero was released against Hombale Films’ K.G.F: Chapter 1, and the former has beaten the South blockbuster in the international market. While K.G.F: Chapter 1 managed to win the domestic battle, it was Shah Rukh’s fandom overseas that helped him give tough competition to Yash’s film despite being a flop in terms of storyline.

If the reports are to be believed, Hombale Films are eyeing to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki both domestically and overseas this time around. With all the success of the K.G.F. film series, the producers are reportedly convinced that they can give an even tougher blow to Shah Rukh this time. However, Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most respected and successful directors in Bollywood. The filmmaker is renowned for giving story-based films to Indian cinema, which is one of the major reasons why Dunki can be Shah Rukh’s third blockbuster in a single year.
