Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a heartthrob of many of his fans. He has, time and again, proved his acting mettle in a number of films. Even today, at the age of 58, SRK is working on one after-the-films non-stop. Moreover, he never misses a chance to grace public events and attend all his other professional commitments. But as one of his glimpses smoking in the stands of the KKR Vs SRH match went viral, netizens couldn't stop reacting to it.
On March 23, 2024, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted smoking in the stands during the IPL match between KKR and SRH at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In the picture, he looked handsome in a white t-shirt and teamed her look with a ponytail hairdo. However, soon after SRK's picture went viral, netizens started reacting to it. Many netizens commented on the same and called it a shameful act.

Earlier, during the 2012 edition of IPL, SRK was yet again spotted while he was smoking during a match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Soon after his photo of him doing the same act surfaced in the media, a complaint was filed against the actor by Anand Singh, who ran a cricket academy in Jaipur. Anand sought action against the actor under the Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking Act, 2000, which prohibits smoking in public places. To this, the actor then pleaded guilty to the charge of smoking in public during an IPL game and was asked to pay a fine of Rs. 100.
Shah Rukh Khan often hosts 'Ask Me Anything' sessions on his Twitter handle and responds to many of his fans' questions. Thus, when one of his fans asked him whether he has quit smoking, he gave a witty answer, again making his fans worried about his health. SRK had wittily responded without answering 'Yes' or 'No'. He wrote:
"Yes he lied, surrounded by a thick plume of smoke from his cancer stick!!!"

Shah Rukh has, time and again, opened up about his smoking habit and how he tries hard to leave it. Once, while promoting his film, Ra.One, he talked about how his daughter Suhana had scolded him for it. Talking about the same, SRK had said how it feels shameful to deter people from smoking in his films, but they continue to do so in real life. However, he really wants to give it up. Further, elaborating on the incident with his daughter, he shared:
"To stop smoking, you need time. Today, my daughter told me 'Papa, you said you were giving up!', but I really have cut down on it. I smoke only six-seven these days. I hope to cut down further by this month. Like social networking, if I can just become a social smoker."
