Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly one of the greatest superstars in Bollywood. The actor needs no introduction, and so does his excellence at par. Right from his debut with the television serial, Fauji to making it big with his latest release, Jawan, SRK has simply proved that there’s no stopping for him in his prolific career. The actor has won hearts across the nation and it is his sheer love towards his work that keeps him going. However, there was also a time when SRK revealed doing a film just for the sake of money.
Back in 2016, Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the chat show, Yaadon Ki Baarat and revealed several unheard anecdotes from his decades-long career. During the same, SRK, for the first time, talked about doing one film in his career, just for the sake of money. Without divulging the name of the movie, the superstar mentioned that he required the money just to buy his first house. Revealing how after attaining financial stability, that was the first film which he bought, Shah Rukh had mentioned:
“Mein naam nahi lunga par sirf ek film maine paise ke liye ki thi. Maine abhi tak 60 films ki hai. Aur mujh malum bhi tha, maine producer ko bhi bol dia tha, maine ghar liya tha uss film ki fees se, mujh bahut zaroorat thi. Jab mere halaat theek-thak hogae, toh jab maine recently apni saare films vapas kharedna shuru kia, woh pehli film thi jo maine vapas li, mujh aisa lagta hai ki maine uss film ki payment vapas ki hai.”

In the same thread of revelation, Shah Rukh mentioned how he never wanted to do a film for money and felt like selling his own conscience when he took the fees for the same. In his words:
“Mujhe dil nahi tha woh film karneka, par maine ek he film aaj tak apna zameer bhechke paisa ke liye ki hai.”
Earlier, during an event organised for the film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completing 25 years, the king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan made a very peculiar statement about him reprising romantic roles. Well, sending his fans to a lot of worry, the superstar had claimed that he doesn’t wish to do love stories anymore, as he felt that the younger actors might do it now. He had said:
“I have always said that Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra, and of course Yash Chopra and Yash Johar because of whom I became a star, I will always be grateful to them. But now I don’t know if I will do a love story or not. Ab Jawan bachcho ko karne do yaar."

Some time back, Shah Rukh Khan gave a very thoughtful answer to a fan on his QnA session on X (formerly known as Twitter). When the fan asked SRK whether he ever thought about his life before stardom, the actor mentioned:
"Never ever. The road ahead is more attractive than the paths I have already negotiated. #Jawan."
