Former Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi is on cloud nine as his eldest daughter, Aqsa Afridi got married to her soulmate, Naseer Nasir in December 2022. However, her rukhsati ceremony took place on July 7, 2023, and an emotional daddy, Shahid dropped a series of unseen pictures from the same.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Shahid Afridi posted some pictures from Aqsa’s rukhsati ceremony, in which the father and daughter were seen sharing some emotional moments. From sharing the warmest hug to escorting her along with her husband, the priceless pictures revealed Shahid and his daughter, Aqsa’s bond.

For the rukhsati ceremony, Aqsa donned a red and gold lehenga from Republic Womenswear. She teamed the floor-sweeping lehenga with a full-sleeved choli, which featured heavy embroidery on the sleeves. She complemented the lehenga with a tulle dupatta with scalloped ends and embellished borders.

Another dupatta was placed on Aqsa's head as a veil. She teamed up her look with heavy jewellery, which included matha patti, maang teeka, a huge jadau necklace and a delicate nath. On the other hand, papa, Shahid Afridi donned a Pathani kurta with pyjama, which he teamed up with a striped Nehru jacket. Along with the heartmelting pictures, Shahid Afridi penned an emotional note which can be read as:
“Meri pyari beti- it seems like yesterday when I cradled you in my arms - and on that day, I promised myself I would never leave your side. Although you’re about to begin a new chapter in your life, you’ll always have my heart because I’m the man who loved you first. May Allah keep you both under His Divine protection and give you the chance to create a beautiful life together. Ameen.”
For the walima ceremony, Aqsa opted for a blue-coloured lehenga with silver embellishments. The lehenga had a long train with intricate stonework all over it along with scalloped ends, featuring big flowers. She teamed the lehenga with a full-sleeved blouse and carried a net dupatta, which featured floral embellishments. She styled her hair in curls and half-tied it along with a beautiful hair accessory.
For the unversed, the former Pakistani all-rounder, Shahid Afridi got married to Nadia Afridi, on October 21, 2000, in a grand nikaah ceremony. The cricketer and his wife, Nadia are blessed with four daughters, Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara and Arwa.
