In the year 2012, Kareena Kapoor broke millions of hearts when she got married to Saif Ali Khan. On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor gave a surprise to his massive fanbase when he announced the news of his marriage with a Delhi-based girl, Mira Rajput. But before beginning their happily ever after, Shahid and Kareena were in a serious relationship with one another.
Shahid and Kareena were head-over-heels in love with one another and were quite vocal about the same. The gorgeous actress even turned vegetarian for her boyfriend, Shahid. However, after the two worked in the film, Fida, cracks started appearing in their relationship. Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor ended their relationship during the shoot of Jab We Met.

After their breakup, Shahid and Kareena have been cordial with each other, but as they say, some wounds take time to heal. A similar scenario was seen when Kareena Kapoor graced IIFA award show and presented an award with Saif Ali Khan. The show was hosted by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar, and as Kareena entered the stage with Saif, she greeted both the hosts and also told them that they were doing a great job.
However, it was Shahid’s awkward reaction to her that caught netizens’ attention. While Kareena was praising Shahid and Farhan, Shahid didn’t even look at her. As the video went viral, netizens pointed at Shahid's reaction and one of the users wrote, “Shahid ne dekha tak nahi.. definitely awkward tha between Kareena and Shahid ke beech!” Another one commented, “Shahid didn't even look towards her when she thanked them.”

Talking about Kareena and Shahid’s breakup, as per a Miss Malini report, it was Kareena Kapoor’s mother and sister, Babita and Karisma Kapoor, who were not very fond of Shahid Kapoor and Bebo’s camaraderie. Although Shahid belonged to a well-known filmy lineage, they had felt that their families do not match and go at par with each other. The report stated that Kareena’s fondness towards Shahid was turning into an obsession as Bebo was then asking all of her directors to cast them together in films.

In a throwback interview with the Bombay Times, Shahid Kapoor revealed whether he would be friends with his exes again and share a warm rapport with them. Revealing his thoughts on the same, Shahid stated:
“It's difficult. It depends on a lot of things, on how you parted and the circumstances you are in now. It depends on the people who you are with now, whether they are comfortable with your being friends with someone you used to be with. It's difficult, but not impossible. Kudos to someone who can do that. But it's difficult and it would be easier to say yes, than to go ahead and do it."
Well, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan have let bygones be bygones and are leading a happy life with their partners and kids.
