The son of veteran actors, Pankaj Kapur and Neliima Azeem, Shahid Kapoor is one of the biggest stars in B-Town. He has bowled us over with his dimpled smile, sartorial picks and commendable acting prowess. After watching Shahid playing intense roles in Kabir Singh, Udta Punjab, and Kaminey, fans eagerly wait for him to sign comedy flicks. However, now Shahid revealed that his doting wife, Mira Rajput, had cried for 15 minutes at the screening of his upcoming release, Jersey.
For the unversed, Shahid Kapoor is a loving husband to his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor and a caring father to his beautiful kids, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor. In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, Shahid was asked to shed light on the changes he had experienced after embracing fatherhood. To this, Shahid had accepted that he had got a whole new perspective of life.

In the movie, Jersey Shahid Kapoor played the role of a father, who was defeated in life and planned to revive his love for cricket and represent India to fulfil his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift. However, Shahid’s wife broke down in tears after watching the heartmelting film. In a candid chat with Mid-Day, Shahid revealed that he had taken Mira Kapoor to Jersey’s screening, and after watching the movie, she had hugged him and had cried in his arms for 15 minutes. Elaborating on the reason behind Mira’s priceless reaction, he shared:
“When she saw Jersey, she hugged me and cried for 15 minutes. I think she was overwhelmed because I was playing a father in the film. To me, Jersey is the story of every married [person] in this country — all of us have dreams in our 20s. When you go on to have responsibilities and children, you sometimes give up on your passion and do the practical thing. After watching the film, Mira understood a lot about me as a person; she could understand my struggles. She connected with the film deeply.”

Further in the conversation, the Kabir Singh actor also mentioned that his darling wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor is his hardest critic and loudest cheerleader. However, Mira never shied away from giving her unfiltered opinions. Shahid said that many times Mira had shown utmost honesty and had told him not to waste his time and energy on certain films. In his words:
“Sometimes, she just comes back home [after a screening] and says, ‘Don’t waste too much time on this film. Move on quickly.”

For the ‘chocolate boy’ of Bollywood, it was an arranged marriage with a Delhi-based girl, Mira Rajput. The madly-in-love couple had time and again restored our belief in destined love with their cute PDAs and unbreakable bond. But Mira had once doubted her arranged marriage with Shahid. Recalling the incident, the Jab We Met actor shared:
“I remember seeing Udta Punjab [2016] with her. It had barely been a year since we were married. By the time it was interval, there was a six-foot distance between us. She said, ‘I am scared of you right now. Are you like Tommy?’ She has an [honest] reaction to every film.”
