Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been grabbing a lot of attention for quite some time now. Several actors and actresses have revealed shocking details about what goes on behind the camera. One of them was Shailesh Lodha, who used to play the character of 'Taarak Mehta' in the sitcom. Recently, he even won a lawsuit against the producer of the show, Asit Kumarr Modi. And now, he opened up about his equation with Dilip Joshi, aka 'Jethalal'. For the unversed, Shailesh and Dilip's characters are portrayed as best friends.
In an interview with Lallantop, Shailesh Lodha opened up about his friendship with Dilip Joshi, aka 'Jethalal Gada'. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that people in the entertainment industry are busy with their work and lives, and they hardly get time to talk. Elaborating more on it, Shailesh mentioned that they hardly meet each other, but whenever they will meet, it would be like the good old days only. In his words:
"Every actor and human in our industry is very busy with their work. We all are so busy with our lives that we don't get a chance to speak to each other. But kabhi milenge toh wapas waise hi milenge jaise humesha milenge..duniya ka yehi haal hai raabta kam reh jaata hai ek baar alag hogaye toh..."

In the same conversation with Lallantop, Shailesh also revealed why he left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Mentioning the reason behind the same, actor stated that he did this due to his self-respect. Elaborating more on it, he mentioned that in 2022, he was called up to join a stand-up show, Good Night India, on SAB TV as a celebrity guest. Shailesh added that he happily graced the show, however, Asit Kumarr Modi didn't like it. Recalling how a day before the telecast of the show, Asit Modi called him, the actor said that he didn't like the tone of the producer and his language. In his words:
"I shot for it and even recited a poem there. A day before the telecast, Taarak Mehta’s producer called me asking how could I be on that show. And the language that he used was not civil, leaving me infuriated."
For the unversed, reports were rife in the media that the producer of TMKOC, Asit Modi hadn't paid a huge amount of money to Shailesh Lodha. And finally, it was one month back when the actor won a lawsuit against the producer. According to a report in The Times Of India, a hefty sum of Rs. 1,05,84,000 was paid to Shailesh Lodha by Asit Kumarr Modi as decided during the settlement terms. As per the reports, Shailesh took the help of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), earlier this year, to get his dues cleared.

Shailesh Lodha is a poet, writer, actor and comedian. He is happily married to his wife, Swati Lodha and the duo is blessed with a daughter, Swaara Lodha. Shailesh worked for fourteen years in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah before leaving the show over issues with the producer of the show, Asit Kumarr Modi.
