While Shaimak didn't want to choreograph it, he couldn't say no as they invited him for dinner and told him about their movie, Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Shaimak added that his style was different and their movie would flop as it was Western. He added that Shah Rukh forced him to choreograph and Yash Johar's mad love made him do it. He was quoted as saying:
"Shah Rukh's wife was my student and one day I got a phone from Gauri saying, 'Come home, Shah Rukh wants to meet you.' I said, 'For what?' Then he called me for dinner an d said there's a movie, 'Dil To Pagal Hai'. I said, 'Nice great'. He said I want you to choreograph it, and I said are you mad, Shah Rukh my style, the movie will flop. It's too western, it is never gonna work. No I want it, there is Madhuri, there is Karisma. Yash uncle said you can use your own dancers. It was actually Shah Rukh's forcing me and Yash' uncle's mad love for me, and then I started, le gaye le gaye."
While the world knows Shah Rukh as a superstar, Shaimak Davar has seen his vulnerable side as a loverboy. In 2016, Shaimak took to his Twitter to reveal how he remembers Shah Rukh as a young boy waiting outside his dance class to meet Gauri Khan. His tweet could be read as:
"Still remember @iamsrk waiting outside dance class when Gauri was my student! Now such a big star bt still so humble!"
