Colombian singer, Shakira rose to immense popularity across the world after she sang the official song, Waka Waka, for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The singer has also sung other popular songs, such as Hips Don’t Lie, Whenever, Wherever, La La La, among many more. She is very popular among the masses for her signature belly dance and upbeat music. While the 47-year-old singer has had an immensely successful professional front, the same cannot be said about her personal life.
For those who don't know, Shakira was in a relationship with former Spanish footballer, Gerard Pique for almost a decade. During their relationship, the two even welcomed their sons, Milan and Sasha. However, the singer's entire world turned upside down when she got to know that her boyfriend cheated on her with a woman named Clara Chia Marti. In 2022, Shakira and Gerard called it quits over reports of the latter’s infidelity.

Recently, Shakira debunked the rumours which allegedly led the singer to find out that her former boyfriend cheated on her. In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the 47-year-old was asked about her longtime partner, Gerard Pique and his infidelity. She was questioned if she got to know that her ex-beau cheated on her via a jar of jam, and the singer had a simple answer to it. She said:
“Not true.”
Previously, there were reports that stated the Colombian singer got to know about her ex’s infidelity after she investigated a jar of jam. Several media reports claimed that Shakira found out that while she was away from her home, some of the strawberry jam which she kept in her fridge was eaten away. This became a noteworthy thing as neither her ex, Gerard, nor her kids, Milan and Sasha, liked that specific flavour of jam. This led the singer to believe that someone else was at her home, who had eaten the jam.
Further in the same interview, Shakira revealed that she had put her career on hold to be with her then-boyfriend, Gerard Pique, at all times so he could play football. The Colombian singer mentioned that she prioritised love over her career and had made a lot of sacrifices. In her words:
“For a long time, I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football. There was a lot of sacrifice for love."

“(It will represent) The transformation of pain into creativity, frustration into productivity, anger into passion, vulnerability into resilience. There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together. And the glue that kept it all together was music.”
