There was a time when Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat had painted Tinseltown red with their mushy romance. From celebrating special occasions to showing off their love in Alibaug, Shamita and Raqesh were always together. However, things took an ugly turn, and they decided to part ways, but they made sure to keep their friendship alive.
On July 26, 2022, Shamita and Raqesh finally announced their separation through Instagram stories. They revealed that they are no longer together. Raqesh had also shared that being a private person, he didn't want to share the details of his personal life. Raqesh and Shamita also requested their fans to shower love on their upcoming video together.

Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shamita talked about her breakup with Raqesh. She shared that it was important for her fans to know that they are no longer together. Shamita also added that they felt pressurised by their ShaRa fans. She thought it was better for them to know the truth about their relationship.Talking about the same, Shamita said:
"I think our reason for announcing it was because the thing is that the whole ShaRa family, that kind of just happened, supported us so much and gave us so much love. And the kind of messages that still kept coming in were very pro the relationship and I didn’t want to break their hearts. I thought it was better for them to kind of know the truth rather than lie to them and I think that was one of the reasons why we both decided that it was kind of time to let them know. At the end of the day, we are friends. I personally think, in any case, this whole ShaRa thing sort of put a certain amount of pressure also on us and we didn’t want to kind of focus on that anymore and focus more on our friendship."
On the other hand, Raqesh also talked about their relationship. He said that they met in unusual circumstances inside the Bigg Boss house. It further paved the way for their future union. Raqesh further added that he is private person and likes to keep his life in that way. He said:
"We met in a very unusual circumstance. We never planned this. We were put in a house where I never preempted that it’s going to be like a couple thing. Had it been that, I would have said no to it right from the word go because I wanted to play individually. I wanted to be a person because I’ve always refrained from participating in Bigg Boss. Every year, they’ve been calling but I am little scared of going into that house, I’m being honest. I’m not a person who’s like a public public person. For me, as I always said, more than two is crowd. I’m a private person and I like to keep it that way and yes I did participate because I wanted to."
On the work front, Raqesh and Shamita were last seen in a music video together!
